1. Hotel New Otani: A 400-Year-Old Japanese Garden Adorned by Cherry Blossoms!

Hotel New Otani (3-minute walk from both Akasaka-mitsuke Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza and Marunouchi Lines, and Nagatacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon and Nanboku Lines) is a long-established hotel name.
The brand has been in business for more than 55 years and in 2020, the Forbes Travel Guide awarded both 5 and 4 stars to one of its hotels, making it one of the most renowned for its first-class hospitality.

Surrounded by the outer moat of Edo Castle, the 40,000 square-meter Japanese garden on the hotel grounds is home to 58 cherry trees of 19 varieties, including Yamazakura, Someiyoshino, and Yaezakura.
The early bloomers, usually start producing flowers in early March, and you can enjoy viewing blossoms until early May.
In the evening, you can view the fantastic illuminated cherry blossoms, and at the Garden Restaurant Seisen-tei, located in the Japanese garden, there is a special meal plan to enjoy while viewing the cherry blossoms.

There are two accommodation buildings: "The Main," and the high-rise "Garden tower." In addition, on the 11th and 12th floors of The Main, there is a hotel-in-hotel called Executive House Zen, which offers rooms in three different concepts.
Rooms range from standard to deluxe, to suites, and The Main features the New Edo room, where you can experience the Edo atmosphere through all senses, with its cypress bath and sake service. The entire hotel is equipped with Wi-Fi, which can be used free of charge.
English-speaking staff are available in the hotel. The hotel also offers a luggage delivery service from the hotel to the airport (Haneda/Narita) (available for booking until two days prior to check-out).
One of the foreign guests who stayed at this hotel commented: "The service provided by the staff was so thorough that it really made my time there special. And the view from our room was outstanding! It made me want to stay one more night, and then one more."

The limited New Edo room plan “edo STAY 〜Spring〜” is being offered between March 1 and April 28, 2022 (1 room, 2 guests from 69,000 yen). For dinner, guests will relish room service “chirashizushi” specially made by famed Japanese sushi restaurant Kyubey, while breakfast is a choice between 3 esteemed restaurants including SATSUKI and Nadaman or room service again. Each day is limited to just 20 rooms, so it’s best to get your reservations in fast.

They are also currently offering the “Japanese Garden-Side Value Rate (with breakfast)” plan, which allows guests gorgeous cherry blossom views from their room for a discounted price (1 room, 2 guests from 37,710 yen). The Hotel New Otani staff recommend staying between mid-March to early April, which usually coincides with the cherry blossom season.

Between March 1 and April 24, 2022, all guests will receive an original brand of “Strawberry Bath Salt” made by the hotel for free. The sweet, gentle fragrance of strawberry and the delightful pink hue will bring the cheer of spring into your bathroom.
Rooms range from standard to deluxe, to suites, and The Main features the New Edo room, where you can experience the Edo atmosphere through all senses, with its cypress bath and sake service. The entire hotel is equipped with Wi-Fi, which can be used free of charge.

At the observation restaurant VIEW & DINING THE SKY, guests can get stuck into a lavish buffet alongside jaw-dropping 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding cherry blossoms from the windows.

A 10-minute walk from Edogawabashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Yarakucho Line, Hotel Chinzan-so Tokyo has been awarded 4 stars by Forbes Travel Guide for six consecutive years, and it's a prestigious hotel loved by the world's most famous VIPs.
The hotel employs English-speaking staff and has plenty of English signage throughout facilities, restaurants, menus, and more. Guests can also arrange to have their luggage delivered to the airport (Haneda, Narita) for a fee (available two days before check out). Free Wi-Fi is also readily available throughout the premises.

Like an oasis in the city, the garden spreading across an area of 50,000 square-meters is dotted with 100 cherry trees of 20 different varieties. The early-blooming cherry trees usually show their first flowers in February, and you can enjoy the blossoms until mid-April.
Guests can also witness the legendary “Tokyo Unkai,” one of the largest “sea of clouds” garden displays in Japan, combined with the garden’s impressive cherry blossom collection. These cherry blossoms will also be illuminated at night in the otherworldly “Night Time Cherry Blossom Unkai” display.

Superior, deluxe, and suite rooms are available. Also, you can choose between the European elegance of the Prime Classic and the modern Japanese design of the Prime Modern, as well as a variety of other types of suites, including Japanese-style rooms.

There is also a garden-view room where you can enjoy the beautiful seasonal garden, including cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
"The garden view was fantastic! The rooms and the bathrooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The sea of clouds in the illuminated garden was wonderful, and the walk in the garden was pleasant."

From March 2, 2022, the hotel will serve luxurious afternoon tea in a suite with a bathroom overlooking the garden (1 room, 2 guests from 199,800 yen). The afternoon tea is from Le Jardin, which is notoriously difficult to reserve during the cherry blossom season, and can be enjoyed in the privacy of your room with sparkling wine (subject to change depending on the season).

For meals, there are nine restaurants to choose from, including Japanese and Italian options. Some of the restaurants are vegetarian, vegan, or Halal.
There is also a restaurant where you can dine with a view of the garden, offering a different experience in each season.
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo allows you to experience the joys of spring through all the senses, including seeing cherry blossoms from your private room, relishing the tastes of afternoon tea, and smelling the scents of the amenities from L'Occitane. Last year, over 400 people took advantage of this plan, with rave reviews focusing on the stunning cherry blossom gardens, the views from the in-room bathrooms, and the cherry blossom-scented products from L'Occitane.

The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, a hotel conveniently located just three minutes away from Shinagawa Station on the JR and Keihin Express lines, has been awarded four stars by the Forbes Travel Guide for three consecutive years.
English-speaking staff are available, and English-speaking hotel guides are also distributed.

Stepping out of the hotel building, you will see 20,000 square meters of a Japanese garden. There are about 210 cherry trees of 17 varieties, including Kawazu-zakura, Someiyoshino, and Kanzan, in the garden. The early-blooming Kawazu-zakura usually starts blooming in early February, and the late-blooming Kanzan usually blooms in late April, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing for a long time.

Rooms are available in corner rooms, deluxe rooms, and suites (all rooms have free Wi-Fi access). In addition, you can choose between twin and king. All bathrooms are equipped with a bath that generates a stream of water from the sides and bottom of the bathtub, and, together with the spacious rooms, you can relax and unwind from you trip.
A foreign guest who stayed at this hotel commented, "Even though it was close to the station, the garden was nice with lots of greenery. The bellboy was wonderful and made me feel comfortable even before entering the hotel. The room was large, comfortable with a separate bathroom and toilet, and large beds.

While daydreaming in front of the dazzling cherry blossoms, guests will be able to thoroughly spread out in the spacious 46m² room while sipping on premium champagne. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better way to make the most of springtime in Japan!

The Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa and the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa are also operating on the same site, so you can choose from a wide variety of dining options, including the restaurants of those two hotels (some are closed as a measure against Covid-19).
The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo is home to Nadaman Takanawa Prime, a long-established Japanese restaurant, and Ristorante Café Ciliegio, an all-day restaurant serving Western cuisine.
Other noteworthy accommodation plans include those gifting guests with cherry blossom-infused ethical body care products and a box of sweets to enjoy alongside those with special, private cherry blossom views to fully relish the spectacle without worrying about others. Each allows an escape from everyday hustle and bustle to take in the beauty of nature.

4. Kissho CAREN: Escape Amongst the Wonders of Springtime

Izu, located just 2 hours away from Tokyo, is considered one of the best resort areas in Japan. Dotted by hot spring towns like Shuzenji and Ito, it’s a fantastic hideaway to spend some downtime by the mountains and sea.
Kissho CAREN can be reached after a 13-minute walk from Izu-Hokkawa Station on the Izukyuko Line on the eastern side of Izu (free shuttle bus service from the station available). Perched upon the coastal hillside, each room commands a stellar view of Sagami Bay, while the open-air baths and restaurants blend the blue of the sea and sky to present dazzling scenery sure to please.

Best of all, the entire premises is encompassed by cherry blossoms, including the open-air baths, guest rooms, and restaurants. Of particular note are the “kawazu-zakura” cherry blossoms planted by the entrance and “Hekikai” hot spring, which generally bloom from early February, and the Oshima cherry blossoms around the “Wagetsu” hot spring, which bloom from late February. Afterwards, the Yoshino cherry blossoms in front of the Aotake restaurant will blossom from mid-March, allowing guests to enjoy some form of cherry blossom magic for an entire two month period!

One of the best ways to absorb this scenery is through a soak in the open-air hot springs surrounded by cherry blossoms while basking in the morning sun, vivid moon, or starry sky hovering over Sagami Bay.

All rooms at Kissho CAREN are traditional Japanese-style tatami rooms. In addition to the standard rooms, there are well-equipped Hollywood Twin bedrooms blending traditional architecture with western trimmings, as well as rooms with panoramic baths or open-air hot springs attached, among others.
An international guest who stayed at Kissho CAREN said “the views from the hot springs were superb and the food served at the restaurant was amazing. The entire premises, including the rooms, were gorgeous and clean, and the staff were super friendly!”

Kissho CAREN are currently offering the “Cherry Blossom Early Springtime Kawazu-zakura and Hot Springs” accommodation plan featuring a French cherry blossom-inspired kaiseki course dinner until March 31 (1 room, 2 guests from 29,100 yen/per person). This will be served at the “Four Seasons” restaurant, which specializes in fusing both French and Japanese cuisine now combined with limited springtime dishes, such as the bouillabaisse with lobster and cherry anthias and the marinated salad with sakura shrimp and root vegetables. Here you can enjoy a high-class, seasonal dinner while admiring the gorgeous cherry blossoms adorning the window.

Guests will also be presented with the “Cherry Blossom Pancake” afternoon tea set (between 2pm and 3:30pm) and a “Cherry Blossom Cocktail” with dinner. Plus, “Cherry Blossom Aroma Oil” has been prepared for each room, allowing guests to fully experience the heights of this wonderful flower.

For breakfast, guests can select between the Japanese meal set or teppanyaki. The Japanese meal set is served at “Four Seasons” and consists of a delicate arrangement of both dried and fresh fish from Izu, dashimaki tamago with sakura shrimp, and other locally-sourced produce all painstakingly crafted to be gentle on the stomach.

The teppanyaki breakfast served at Aotake serves up a plethora of hearty egg dishes alongside fluffy French toast, original creations like wasabi and ashitaba sausage, and more, all cooked to preference right before your eyes.
These springtime accommodation plans at Kissho CAREN allow one to bask in a profusion of cherry blossom-inspired hospitality, including irresistible delights like pancakes, cocktails, and aroma oils.
