Matsudo Tomita Men-Tan is a directly managed branch operated by the owner of Chuka Soba Tomita, Chiba’s most famous tsukemen shop.

Crowned champion in numerous competitions, it’s hailed as the “absolute king” of tsukemen. In addition to its signature dipping noodles, the shop also serves classic chuka soba (regular ramen).

Its hallmark is homemade noodles crafted from 100% Japanese wheat, paired with a broth simmered for over 20 hours. While the Chiba main shop is notoriously difficult to get into due to long lines, this branch makes it easier for travelers to enjoy the same flavors in comfort. Prices typically range from 1,000 to 1,200 yen.

The shop has also begun offering Dan, a premium Japanese sake brand previously sold only at the Tomita flagship and Narita Airport—making it a great place to pick up a memorable souvenir along with your meal.
