What's Niseko Like?
Niseko, in Hokkaido's central-western region, is a winter paradise with renowned high-quality powder snow. The snow season starts early, around November, and extends for a long duration. The area boasts stunning scenery, including Mount Yotei and the Annupuri mountain range. Even in summer, the average temperature is 6.3°C (43°F), offering pleasant and refreshing travel conditions.
Throughout the year, Niseko offers various attractions, such as ranches, museums, and hot springs.
If you plan to visit during winter, consider making early reservations for accommodations, activities, and transportation due to high tourist demand. January and February experience more snowfall but less stable weather, so flexibility in your itinerary is wise.
Be cautious of potential traffic delays and icy roads if driving, and extra travel insurance coverage is recommended. Dress warmly with scarves, hats, and gloves, and consider carrying waterproof sprays and portable ice cleats to stay dry and avoid slipping.

For explorers, renting a car is ideal. Find car rental counters on the first floor of New Chitose Airport's international and domestic terminals. Reserve ahead for a smooth start. Prepare for winter road conditions, including wet, icy, or snowy roads, and pay attention to traffic.
Train:
Take the JR Rapid Airport Line train to Otaru and transfer to the JR Hakodate Main Line for Niseko. The journey takes about 3 hours. Check the limited train departures in advance for planning.

9: Host a Chat Party at the Hotel - Winter Nights with Friends
If you're traveling to Niseko with friends, a lively party at the hotel is a must! You can also go for a popular aspect of Hokkaido culture - "eating ice cream in a warm indoor setting" - during the winter!
As mentioned previously, Niseko offers a wide range of hotels with spacious rooms, beautiful views, and some even include a kitchen. When looking for a hotel to share meals and good times with friends, consider the room size, availability of tables and chairs, and whether a kitchen is equipped with enough utensils and a hot water kettle.
Also, check the hotel's proximity to convenience stores or shops within the resort to make preparing for the party easier.
Lastly, be sure to pay attention to the hotel's policies and guidelines. Some buildings might have less soundproofing, and there could be rules about noise levels after a particular hour in consideration of other guests.
Here are some recommendations for hotels with ample space, perfect for hosting a dinner party with friends:
