Terminal 1: Central Building, 4th & 5th Floors

Matsudo Tomita Men-Tan - Enjoy the Popular Tsukemen Without the Wait at the Airport
Matsudo Tomita Men-Tan is a sister shop of the highly popular "Chuka Soba Tomita" in Chiba, known for its long lines. While they serve ramen, their tsukemen is a must-try, having even won first place in a national tsukemen competition. The restaurant's specialties include homemade noodles made from 100% Japanese wheat and a rich broth simmered for over 20 hours. While the original Chiba location often has long waits, you can now enjoy this delicious tsukemen right at Narita Airport! The shop also sells premium sake from the brand "Tan," which is only available at the Chiba flagship and Narita Airport. It's a great souvenir to pick up while enjoying your meal.

Kawatoyo: Must-Try Unagi Bowls at Narita
Kawatoyo, an unagi restaurant founded in 1910, is a beloved establishment located on the approach to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, a popular attraction near Narita Airport. Known for its long lines, Kawatoyo opened a branch in Narita Airport’s Terminal 1 in August 2023. The star of the menu is, of course, the unagi bowl, available in three different price tiers—Special, Regular, and Half—each with the option of a regular or large portion, allowing you to choose based on your budget. The unagi bowl is beautifully presented, with the restaurant’s signature sauce perfectly complementing the tender, savory grilled eel. You’ll be glad you made time to enjoy this meal before leaving Japan!

WithGreen, a salad bowl specialty restaurant, opened at Narita Airport in January 2024. Known for its low-calorie, nutritionally balanced meals, their salad bowls feature a variety of high-nutrition ingredients like vegetables, nuts, chicken breast, and brown rice. These bowls have become a favorite among vegetarians and those focused on healthy eating. With 25 locations across Japan, WithGreen offers popular options like "Steamed Chicken Breast and Apple Salad" and "Low-Temperature Cooked Pork Salad," along with seasonal menus. When you look up from the departure hall in Terminal 2, you'll easily spot the "SHOPPING & DINING" sign. Just take the escalator to reach the 4th floor, where many restaurants are located. In September 2023, the "JAPAN FOOD HALL" was added in the area after customs and security, offering even more dining options for travelers about to depart. If you arrive at the airport early, be sure to check out these new Japanese food spots!

Kyoto Katsugyu: Enjoy the Popular Tonkatsu Spot Without the Wait!
Kyoto Katsugyu is a specialty tonkatsu restaurant that uses high-quality Japanese beef to create its signature fried beef cutlets. The crispy, thinly sliced beef is served with a light, non-greasy coating that perfectly complements the tender, marbled meat. Paired with the restaurant’s unique sauce, it’s a dish that goes great with rice. For an extra treat, they even offer fried black wagyu beef cutlets. The Narita Airport branch, located in the JAPAN FOOD HALL, is the first airport location for Kyoto Katsugyu. You’re probably already familiar with the famous "Ippudo," but this new venture focuses entirely on authentic "Tokyo Tonkotsu Broth." At TOKYO Tonkotsu BASE, all ramen is made with a rich pork bone broth, paired with soy sauce, miso, and other seasonings. They also offer unique, limited-edition flavors for those looking to try something new. You can customize the firmness of the noodles to your liking, and adjust the taste with the various condiments and side dishes available at the table. Since there are no overseas branches yet, this spot is a must-visit for Ippudo fans and ramen enthusiasts alike.

Terminal 3, primarily serving budget airline passengers, offers a selection of restaurants with more affordable prices without compromising on quality and taste. Many popular eateries with locations in downtown Tokyo also have branches here, making it tough to choose where to eat!

Several Airport Firsts! Enjoy Ramen, Set Meals, and More
After the challenges of the pandemic, Narita Airport’s Terminal 3 underwent a major renovation of its dining facilities. In 2020, three new restaurants opened, including some must-visit spots for travelers. These include Rikyu Gyutan, famous for its grilled beef tongue; Hong Hu Shokudo, known for its savory xiao long bao; and Hakata ramen shop Ittenmon. These eateries are making their debut in Japanese airports, allowing you to enjoy regional specialties without leaving Narita. Hong Hu Shokudo even offers a unique combination of chicken cutlets and dan dan noodles, which has become a hit with Japanese customers!

Ramen Shop Hakata Ittenmon: Hakata & Kyoto Culinary Collaboration!
Ittenmon is a renowned ramen shop from Hakata, now offering its only Kanto region branch at Narita Airport's Terminal 3. The rich tonkotsu broth is crafted with Rishiri kelp from Hokkaido and a unique preparation method. The initial richness is perfectly balanced by the refreshing yuzu pepper sauce made with green chilies, leaving a clean, lingering taste. This ramen rivals the best in Tokyo. In addition, Ittenmon has teamed up with Kyoto's famous Chinese restaurant, Marushin Hanten, so you can enjoy their signature gyoza without traveling to Kyoto!

Miyatake Sanuki Udon, established in 1948 in Kagawa Prefecture, the birthplace of udon, is a beloved Sanuki udon shop. Like many udon restaurants, you start by choosing your noodle portion, then select your preferred tempura, rice balls, and other toppings before heading to the counter to pay. In addition to their regular menu, they offer seasonal dishes, with the Matsuba Crab Udon being a winter favorite. You can also opt for cold udon or soba, depending on your preference.

TATSU SUSHI: Affordable Takeaway Sushi

In addition to nigiri, they also offer rice bowls, soups, and alcoholic beverages.
