Description
The Kumano gods descended onto the mountain where Kamikura Shrine is located were first worshiped here during the era of Emperor Keiko. The shrine's name derives from the place name of its new location. The shrine's main deity is said to be Bhaisajyaguru. Kumano Hayatama Taisha is also known as a shrine for matchmaking since its deity is related to Hayatama-no-Okami (also known as Izanagi-no-Mikoto) and Fusumi-no-Okami (also known as Izanami-no-Mikoto).
