It’s Official! ‘Nintendo Gallery’ Museum to Open in Japan by March 2024
- Written by: Timothy Sullivan
Nintendo has announced that it will be opening a museum to showcase the many products they have made over the years, according to an official announcement by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.

Nintendo Gallery, as the museum is tentatively called, will be located in the city of Uji in Kyoto, is planned to be completed by March 2024. Inside, Nintendo’s historical products will be featured alongside various exhibits, experiences, and more.
Nintendo Gallery will be located on the site of the current Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant, which has been used to manufacture both playing cards and Hanafuda cards. Built in 1969, the Uji Ogura Plant also operated as a customer service center for product repairs before these functions were transferred to the current Uji Plant in November 2016.
Headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, Nintendo has sold more than 5 billion video games and over 790 million hardware units globally. As a company that “aims to deliver unique, intuitive entertainment experiences for everyone,” we can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next!
