About 1-Day Passes
A 1-day pass allows you unlimited rides for one day on the lines specified by the public transport company issuing the pass.
How to Purchase and Use a 1-Day Pass
1-day passes are sold at automatic ticket machine at stations and also at ticketing counters, depending on the company. Typically, a 1-day pass is valid only for the day of purchase to enjoy unlimited rides.
Once you purchase the pass, go through an automatic ticket gate, or show your pass to a staff at a ticket barrier or a bus driver for boarding. Some passes can be used as vouchers at affiliated shops and facilities. Just present your pass to enjoy special benefits!
Here is a list of major one-day passes you can use in and around Tokyo.
JR East's 1-Day Passes (Tokyo and Surrounding Areas)
JR-East railway service is very handy when traveling from the center of Tokyo to surrounding areas. There are several types of 1-day passes available.
Tokyo Metropolitan District Pass
This Tokyo Metropolitan District Pass allows for unlimited rides on JR local and rapid trains (excluding reserved seats) within Tokyo's 23 wards.
Tokyo Tour Ticket
Unlimited rides on JR local and rapid trains (excluding reserved seats) as well as on Tokyo Metro, Toei Subways, the Nippori-Toneri Liner, Tokyo Toei streetcars and the Toei Bus system.
Kyujitsu Odekake Pass (Holiday Pass)
This 1-day pass is available to use on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and between April 29 and May 5, July 20 and August 31, and December 29 through January 3. You can use Limited Express or the Shinkansen (bullet trains) if you pay express fare.
These passes are available at JR Ticket Offices (Midori-no-Madoguchi) at major JR East stations in Tokyo as well as at Green ticket machine (Midori-no-Kenbaiki) at the stations.
Tokyo Metro's 1-Day Tokyo Subway Passes
Tokyo has two subway operators: Tokyo Metro and Toei.
Tokyo Metro service is widely operated through Tokyo's 23 wards and offers a wide range of 1-day tickets useful for sightseeing in the center of Tokyo.
Tokyo Metro 24-hour Ticket
This ticket allows unlimited rides on Tokyo Metro for 24 hours from first use. For example, if you pass through a ticket barrier at 3:00 p.m. for first use, it is valid until 3:00 p.m. on the following day.
Tokyo Subway Ticket (24-hour to 72-hour)
This ticket allows unlimited rides on Tokyo Metro lines as well as Toei Subway lines during 24 hours, 48 hours or 72 hours from first use depending on the type of ticket.
Tokyo Tour Ticket Unlimited
Allows for rides for a day on Tokyo Metro lines as well as Toei Subway lines, Tokyo Toei streetcars, the Toei Bus system (excluding night bus and reserved seats), the Nippori-Toneri Liner and JR local and rapid trains within Tokyo's 23 wards.

1-Day Passes for Toei
The Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei) operates the Toei Subway, Toei Bus, Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line), and the Nippori-Toneri Liner. The Toei Subway offers a one-day pass that allows unlimited travel within major areas of Tokyo such as Asakusa, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. The Tokyo Sakura Tram offers a one-day pass for touring the downtown areas of Tokyo. Additionally, there's a one-day pass for Toei Bus that allows unlimited rides for a day.
- Toei All-Day Pass:
Allows unlimited rides on the Toei Subway, Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line), Toei Bus, and the Nippori-Toneri Liner for one day.
Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) One-Day Pass
Provides unlimited rides on the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) for one day. On the day of use, it comes with benefits at affiliated shops, restaurants, museums, etc.
Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) IC One-Day Pass
Covers the same area as the Tokyo Sakura Tram (Toden Arakawa Line) One-Day Pass but can be purchased with IC cards such as PASMO and Suica. While it doesn't include benefits, using an IC card eliminates the need to handle paper tickets.
Toei Bus One-Day Pass / Toei Bus IC One-Day Pass
Allows unlimited rides on Toei Buses within the 23 special wards of Tokyo (excluding the Toei Bus route "Edo 01") for one day. The Toei Bus IC One-Day Pass is available for purchase with PASMO, Suica (including Mobile PASMO, Apple Pay PASMO, and Mobile Suica).
One-day passes for the Toei Subway can be purchased at ticket vending machines in each station and on Toei Buses and Tokyo Sakura Trams. One-day passes for the Tokyo Sakura Tram can be purchased onboard or at advance ticket sales locations.
Tokyu Lines' 1-Day Tickets
Tokyu Lines offer 1-day tickets by destination.
Tokyu One-day Open Ticket
This ticket allows unlimited rides on all Tokyu lines for a day.
Triangle Ticket
This ticket allows unlimited for rides on the Tokyu lines in the popular, so called triangle area consisting of Shibuya, Jiyugaoka and Futako-tamagawa for one day.
Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass
This discount ticket allows a round-trip from any station on the Tokyu Denentoshi Line to Chuo-rinkai Station, a round-trip from Chuo-rinkai Station to Fujisawa Station and unlimited rides between Fujisawa Station and Katase-Enoshima Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line and unlimited rides on the Enoden Line for one day. This pass also can be used as vouchers at the affiliated shops and facilities.
These tickets are available almost all the stations on Tokyu Lines. However, some station and the stations on Setagaya Line don’t handle the tickets.
Keikyu Lines' 1-Day Tickets
There are two types of 1-day tickets offered by Keikyu Lines. One is intended for traveling from airports and the other is for sightseeing.
Tokyo 1-Day Ticket
This ticket allows a round-trip from any station to Shinagawa Station on the Keikyu Lines (unlimited rides between Shinagawa Station and Sengakuji Station) and unlimited rides on Toei Subways, the Nippori-Toneri Liner, Toei buses (excluding some buses) for one day.
Misaki Maguro Day Trip Ticket
The Misaki Maguro Day Trip Ticket offers not only train fare, but also bus passes and a meal voucher for local delicacies. It’s a great way to spend an unforgettable day in the coastal Miura and Misaki area, about 90 minutes south of Tokyo. It can be purchased from automatic ticket vending machines at Keikyu Line stations.
Keikyu Haneda/Subway Common Pass
A set of a single ticket from Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal Station or Haneda Airport International Terminal Station to Sengakuji Station and unlimited rides on Toei Subway lines and Tokyo Metro lines for one day.
Keikyu Haneda/Subway Common Pass is sold at automatic ticket machines at the stations of Haneda Airport. Tokyo 1-Day Ticket is available at automatic ticket machines at Keikyu stations.
Tobu Railway's 1-Day Passes
Tobu Railway offers great discount tickets that can be used to visit major sightseeing spots in Tokyo.
TOKYO SKYTREE(R) Area Strolling Free Pass
1-day pass is useful to travel around TOKYO SKYTREE(R) and the surrounding areas including Asakusa.
Asakusa Shitamachi Free Pass
This pass allows unlimited rides on the Tobu Lines between Kitasenju and Asakusa, Hikifune and Kameido, and Hikifune and Oshiage and a circulation bus, Megurin to travel the downtown areas in Tokyo called Shitamachi for one day.
Ticket availability may vary depending on the station and some tickets are only available at Tobu Top Tours. They are valid for 1 day.
Odakyu Lines' 1-Day Passes
The Odakyu Lines offer discount 1-day passes for visiting popular sightseeing spots especially in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Odakyu-Setagaya Line Strolling Ticket
Unlimited rides on trains on Odakyu Line and Setagaya Line. You can enjoy a downtown atmosphere in the center of Tokyo.
Hakone Kyukaido Line-1 Pass
This pass allows a round-trip on Odakyu Line and unlimited rides on Hakone Tozan trains and Hakone Tozan buses.
Tickets are available at automatic ticket machines at each station, or at Odakyu Travel agencies. Some tickets may be available only at the ticket counter of specific stations.
Seibu Railway's 1-day tickets
Seibu Railway offers 1-day passes handy to travel to famous spots in Saitama Prefecture.
Koedo-Kawagoe Free Coupon
This ticket allows a round-trip from any station to Hon-Kawagoe Station on the Seibu lines and unlimited rides on Koedo circulation bus.
Kawagoe Access Ticket
This is a round-trip express ticket from Seibu-Shinjuku Station or Takadaanobaba Station to Hon-Kawagoe Station. You can use the Limited Express Koedo-go with all reserved reclining seats.
Chichibu Free Pass
This pass allows a round-trip from any station to Seibu Chichibu Station on the Seibu Lines and unlimited rides on the trains between Ashigakubo and Seibu Chichibu Station as well as on Chichibu Railway (between Nogami/Nagatoro and Mitsumineguchi Station) for two days.
You can purchase tickets at ticket machines at Seibu Line stations. However, Kawagoe Access Ticket is available only at Seibu-Shinjuku Station and Takadanobaba Station.
Keisei Lines' 1-Day Pass
Keisei Electric Railway's 1-day pass is handy for visiting downtowns in Tokyo.
Shitamati Biyori Pass
This pass allows unlimited rides on all the Keisei-line trains within the 23 wards in Tokyo. For travelers from Chiba Prefecture, the company offers this pass with a round-trip ticket to Tokyo from the station issuing the pass. The pass is available at ticket machines at Keisei line stations.
1-Day Passes for the Tokyo Bay Area
The railways operated in Tokyo Bay Area including Odaiba also offer 1-day passes.
Yurikamome 1-day Pass
This pass is available at ticket machines at Yurikamome stations.
Rinkai Line 1-day Pass
This pass is available at the ticket counter at Rinkai line stations or at some automatic ticket machines in the stations.
