1. Osaka Yakiniku Kobe Aburi Bokujo Honten: Kobe Beef Specialty Shop! (Closed 7/2021)

Kobe Aburi Bokujo's menu is a balance of price and satisfaction, featuring domestic Kobe beef and Japanese black beef.

Specializing in Kobe beef, they also sell reasonably-priced beef in bulk online and wholesale. Platters of 6 slices are reasonably priced, at 980 yen for ribs and 1,980 yen for premium cuts such as brisket and chuck flap. You can also order a half-serving (3 slices) of Kobe beef ribs for 510 yen (tax not included).

You can enjoy your beef in one of three ways: with salt wasabi, white soy sauce, or with an ever-evolving homemade sauce based on a 50-year-old original recipe.

Meats are grilled using high-grade Binchotan charcoal, which removes excess fat and brings out the meat's original flavor and sweetness.

Near the station but away from the busy downtown area

The shop is located in a calm spot away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, yet it is still easily accessible from Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station and JR Osaka Station. There are regular table seats and the popular table-for-two seats that face the meat showcase.

Private rooms are also available. There are menus in English, Chinese, and Korean, as well as staff members who can speak all three. You can also make reservations from the official website in 19 different languages.

Plenty of variety that'll satisfy all your senses! Staircase platters and roasted beef

2. Kuroge Wagyu Yakiniku Kisshan Kitashinchi: A Wide Range of A5 Matsusaka Beef

Kisshan is right next to Kitashinchi Station and easily accessible from Osaka Station. It is directly managed by a butcher shop, so you can expect the highest quality yakiniku.

They are known for their A5 Matsusaka beef. Matsusaka beef is one of Japan's top three kinds of beef, along with Kobe beef, which is famous for its beautiful marbling. Enjoy delicious A5 ranked cuts, the highest rank on the scale! Yield rank indicates how much meat can be obtained from the cow, and is graded from A to C. The beef's quality is graded from 1 to 5.

Their beef comes from Akesato Ito Ranch in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. You can try not only premium and high-class cuts but also offal. They serve only the finest quality beef from pedigree calves that have been fattened over a period of 2-3 years.

The Banquet & All-you-can-drink Course (8,200 yen, tax included) features Matsusaka beef ribs, carefully-selected premium cuts of super-grade sirloin, grilled loin with eggs, and white rice. Enjoy all kinds of meat, and eat to your heart's content!

Some courses also offer Matsusaka beef tongue and skirt steak, which are sometimes hard to find, even in Osaka restaurants!

The supreme marriage of carefully-selected wine and Japanese black beef

The wine cellar offers a wide selection of wines from around the world, including red, white, and sparkling, all carefully selected by the sommelier. Not sure which wine best pairs with your Wagyu beef? Just ask!

At Grand Front Osaka, just off Osaka Station, you can enjoy carefully-selected Sendai beef and the finest Wagyu beef at reasonable prices. Check out the Sendai Beef Chateaubriand as seen in the photo (150g, 4,500 yen, tax included)!

The head chef is a meat connoisseur and craftsman with many years of experience. Enjoy all kinds of beef, including Sendai beef direct from Sendai City, Miyagi. Premium cuts may also be available depending on ingredients purchased on that day.

Grade 5 Beef: The Only Grade of Meat that Qualifies as Sendai Beef!

Several factors define Sendai beef, such as that it must come from Japanese black cattle raised in Miyagi Prefecture. However, the most telling sign is a grade-5 ranking on the meat quality scale (from 1 to 5). Only grades A5 or B5 qualify as Sendai beef, and Sendai beef is the only beef of this quality out of all Japanese beef. It is clearly the finest brand of beef!

Hakuundai only uses Sendai beef ranked 10 or above on the 12-grade Beef Marbling Scale (BMS). This scale ranks grade and quality based on the degree of marbling. Each cut is sure to have a rare and delicious taste!

4 Types of Sendai Beef Comparison Assortment Platter (200g, 5,000 yen, tax included). Eat and compare the tastes and textures of four different cuts of beef!

A party menu is also available

There are table seats, sofa seats, and multi-purpose private rooms.

The 2-Person Limited Anniversary Meat Cake Course is a brand-new course, launched in August 2020 (5,000 yen per person, tax included). Large groups of people are no longer gathering as much for dinner.

This 2-person course was designed to continue to serve customers amidst the chaos of the coronavirus. Peel the slices off the cake-shaped meat one by one to reveal a Sendai beef fillet inside! The gorgeous presentation and fun set-up make this one exciting dish!

5. Halal Yakiniku Zerohachi Namba OCAT Honten: Enjoy Halal-Friendly Japanese Red Beef!

5. Halal Yakiniku Zerohachi Namba OCAT Honten: Enjoy Halal-Friendly Japanese Red Beef!

Zerohachi is directly connected to JR Namba Station. Their menu is centered on foods and ingredients that are all certified Halal, which means they can also be enjoyed by Muslim guests. They even serve Halal Japanese Red Wagyu Beef, which is very rare in Kansai. Here, you can enjoy various cuts at reasonable prices!

What sets these cows apart from other cows are the pretreatment methods, such as how the blood is removed. This Halal beef is said to have a very meaty taste and a good fat content. Additionally, Red Wagyu Beef is characterized by plenty of lean meat and a delicate, refreshing taste. It may be Halal, but it is very popular with non-Muslim guests, as well!

Note that all domestic and foreign beef served here are Halal, so Muslim visitors can order with confidence!

Enjoy halal-friendly dishes with simple flavors and Halal-certified ingredients

The delicious Halal Hamburger Steak (880 yen, tax not included) is another popular dish!
The delicious Halal Hamburger Steak (880 yen, tax not included) is another popular dish!

All the other non-meat ingredients used to make these dishes are also Halal-certified!

The Zerohachi Set Menu (1,800 yen, tax included) can be ordered at any time of the day. In addition to the 150g grilled meat platter with rice, there are other six Main Sets you can try, including the above Hamburger Steak and Halal Japanese Beef Sukiyaki.

No alcohol or oils are used in the sauces, so they are also completely halal. This shop strives to create a place where both Muslim and non-Muslim visitors can enjoy meals together! Alcoholic drinks are available for customers who do drink.

We also recommend the 120-Minute All-you-can-eat Black Course, which includes 70 kinds of Japanese Red Beef, lamb, and chicken (180 yen, tax not included).

A shop that's considerate of wait time

The store moved to its current location in September 2020. Their reason? They were aware that their restaurant was one of the very few places that Muslim tourists could eat at, and they didn't want to keep people waiting outside for a seat!

So they moved from their previous smaller location (with few seats and no waiting space) to a larger place with 72 seats! They are also opening a branch in the Namba OCAT shopping area, so that if customers must wait, they could at least do some shopping!

Menus are available in English.
