A four-minute walk from Kiyomizu Temple, the Rikawafuku Kiyomizu is a Kyoto kimono rental shop with 300 unique kimono you won’t find anywhere else, from antique kimono to gorgeous and playful designs with a modern flair.
There you can create a style that combines traditional kimono with modern, original, and handmade accessories.
At Rikawafuku, you can also have your hair styled to complete your look before doing some fashionable sightseeing. Price plans include: “Kyoto Kimono Hair Set Plan” 3,980 yen, “Kyoto Kimono Hair Set Student Discount Plan” 3,500 yen, and “Kyoto Kimono Couple Plan” 7,000 yen.
If you don't need your hair styled, the “Kyoto Kimono Basic Plan” 1,980 yen is recommended (all prices exclude tax).

There are staff members who can speak Chinese, Korean, and English, and additional foreign language information is provided.

2. Kyoetsu: Kyoto kimono rental shop with free luggage storage!

A 10-minute walk from Kiyomizu Temple, the renovated Kyoetsu Gion Store features picturesque windows and a garden overlooking the Yasaka Tower, perfect for taking photos.
The inventory of this Kyoto kimono rental shop is a wide range of antiques, gorgeous modern patterns, and even famous brand kimono. There are also sizes suitable for taller and full-bodied people. In July and August the shop rents yukata (light summer kimono), and in June and September, you can choose your favorite yukata or kimono.
Most of the antique kimono are unique pieces, so it is unlikely that you see the same design on anyone else and can enjoy your own original look!
Online reservations are available starting from 2,000 yen for women and 3,000 yen for men. Group discounts are also available (all prices exclude tax).

With twenty stores nationwide, Wargo is the largest kimono rental shop in Japan. They also specialize in Japanese accessories, with a wide variety of handbags and geta (traditional Japanese sandals). All accessories are included with your Kyoto kimono rental, so you can coordinate with cute hairpins and accessories.

Popular rental packages include the “Standard Kimono Plan” (2,980 yen), the “Mamechiyo Modern Kimono Plan” (5,980 yen) by which you can wear a kimono with innovative design, and the “Casual Furisode Plan” (8,980 yen) that allows you to wear a kimono made of glossy, high quality fabric (all prices exclude tax). 4. Kyoto Kimono Rental Shiki Sakura: Choose from a variety of plans

Shiki Sakura Kiyomizu Temple Store is operated by the Maiko Experience Studio Shiki facility and is particular about offering elegant and beautiful clothing. Even if you have difficulty choosing a kimono, the staff can choose one that suits you.
The reasonable “Omakase” (4,000 yen) and “Choice” (5,000 yen) plans allow you to choose your kimono, obi, bag, and sandals. There are also men's and children's plans available, so you can dress up as a family. The Omakase, men's, and children's plans all on sale for 2,980 yen each during the September 16, 2020 to May 31, 2021 “Kimono Campaign” (all tax excluded). An indoor photoshoot can be added on the day for an additional 1,000 yen (excluding tax), so you can share your experience with family and friends.

Rental Kimono Okamoto originated with rental kimono produced by the Okamoto Textile Store, a long-established company founded 190 years ago. The large Kiyomizu store has over 330 square meters of floor space, and you can take photos with the garden as a backdrop.
The store is a one-minute walk from Kiyomizu Temple and you can return your kimono the next day or through your hotel, so you can enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto at your own pace.

The Kyoto kimono rental shop has over 1,000 kimono in a wide range of sizes and styles from cute and cool to beautiful and antique. There are plenty of obi belts, bags, accessories, and sandals so you can coordinate to your tastes. The staff possess a high level of technical skill in dressing customers and hair styling, you can leave the shop with confidence, knowing you’ll look your best.

6. Kimono Rental Yume Kyoto: Return kimono via hotels and other stores

Kimono Rental Yume Kyoto Kodaiji Store has convenient access to multiple sightseeing areas: Kodaiji Temple (one-minute walk), Kiyomizu Temple (five-minute walk), and Gion (ten-minute walk). After sightseeing, you can return your kimono through your hotel or at other Kimono Rental Yume Kyoto stores so you can go sightseeing without worrying about the return time.

You can choose from about 400 kimono, including antique pieces. The “Omakase Coordination Plan” (2,900 yen), “Full Set Coordination Plan” (4,900 yen), and retro and antique pattern “Hannari Plan” (5,900 yen, all prices exclude tax) are popular choices.

7. Rental Kimono Rose: The authentic kimono experience & photography

Rental Kimono Rose has a wide selection of genuine silk kimono. The experienced staff will fit kimono properly according to customers’ body shape, with beautiful results.
Kimono and yukata for men and children are also available. With cool kimono in summer and stoles and haori in the winter, couples and families can enjoy the experience all year round. A popular plan is the “Antique Kimono Plan” (September 15th to June 15th) for 4,000 yen (excluding tax).
