Shin nyo-do Temple is an ancient temple for the Tendai sect of Buddhism. Inside its spacious grounds stand many important cultural properties, including the main temple building and the three-story pagoda. In 984, the Amida Nyorai statue from Hieizan Enryakuji Shrine’s Jogyodo was moved to Kaguraoka by Kaisan Shonin and the shrine opened. It’s famous for autumn foliage.
