Why Stay at Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower?

The hotel opened on April 11, 1998, and occupies the upper floors of the 36-story Odakyu Southern Tower. More than 80% of the guests at Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower are international tourists.
Located in Shinjuku, one of Tokyo's the busiest areas, the hotel is surrounded by tourist attractions, shopping districts, and plenty of restaurants.
With many popular spots open 24/7, you can dive into Shinjuku's vibrant street scenes and unique culture. It's truly the perfect base for enjoying everything Tokyo has to offer!

The hotel is within walking distance of Shinjuku Station, one of the largest terminal stations in Tokyo, as well as the Busta Shinjuku highway bus terminal.
With easy access to trains, buses, and taxis, traveling to other popular attractions is a breeze.
How to Get to Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower
- By Train
- From Tokyo Station: Take the JR Chuo Line Rapid, and you'll reach Shinjuku Station in about 14 minutes.
From Shinagawa Station: Take the JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station, which takes around 19 minutes.
- From the Airport
- From Haneda Airport: Take the Keikyu Line from any terminal at Haneda to Shinagawa Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station, which takes about 45 minutes.
From Narita Airport: Take the Narita Express from Narita Airport Station to Shinjuku, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The Narita Airport Terminal 1 is connected to Narita Airport Station, while Terminals 2 and 3 connect to the Airport Terminal 2 Station.
Note: You can also take an Airport Limousine Bus from the hotel to both airports.
Top Perks of Staying Here
Here are our top reasons why we highly recommend Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower for international visitors.
Convenient Access by Plane, Train, and Bus!

The best thing about this hotel is how easy it is to get to! There are Limousine Buses that run between the hotel and both Narita and Haneda airports. You can board and disembark right at the hotel's first floor.

If you're taking the train, it's just a 3-minute walk from the South Exit of Shinjuku Station, which is connected to 11 different train lines, including JR, Odakyu, Keio, and the Tokyo Metro.
However, note that the Shinkansen does not go through Shinjuku Station, so you'll need to travel from Tokyo Station. You can take the JR Chuo Line or the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to get from Shinjuku to Tokyo Station. If you're coming from Shinagawa Station, the JR Yamanote Line is the most convenient option.
If you're arriving by bus, Busta Shinjuku, the largest highway bus terminal in Japan, connecting 39 prefectures and 300 cities, is just a 3-minute walk away.
Enjoy the Tokyo Skyline from the High Floors

The hotel is located on the 19th to 35th floors of the Odakyu Southern Tower. To reach the lobby on the 20th floor, you'll take a glass elevator with a view of the outside. As you ascend, the streets of Shinjuku gradually unfold beneath your feet, and you'll find yourself captivated by the vibrant cityscape.

When you step out of the elevator, you'll find the floors made of Burmese rosewood, a luxurious wood that adds a touch of warmth. The lobby has a rich, elegant feel, and the natural warmth of the wood creates a welcoming atmosphere. From the large windows, you can enjoy a stunning view of Shinjuku Station and Busta Shinjuku.

Rooms are located on the 22nd floor and above, and from every room, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Tokyo that makes the city look almost like a miniature model.
The view, which you've probably seen on TV, in magazines, or on social media, changes beautifully depending on the time of day, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
One of the most popular rooms is the one overlooking the JR and Odakyu railway tracks. Watching real trains pass by like models is fascinating for train enthusiasts of all ages.
Since all the rooms are over 100 meters above ground level, you can enjoy a peaceful environment despite being so close to the heart of the city and the station.
Perfectly Balanced Service

Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower is focused on providing a comfortable stay, offering carefully selected services and amenities since its opening.
That said, there are no bellhops, and guests are encouraged to use the carts available on the 1st and 20th floors to carry their own luggage to their rooms.

Automated currency exchange is available at the machine in the front lobby. Additionally, luggage can be stored for free before check-in and after check-out.

Aside from Japanese, the staff only speaks English, but each guest room is equipped with an AI speaker that functions as a multilingual chatbot. It can assist with various questions, slike as how to connect to the free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel.
Inside the Rooms: What to Expect
There are 375 rooms of 6 different types at the hotel, featuring a warm color scheme of brown and beige, with wooden accents added here and there. The design is simple yet crafted for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Let's take a look at some of the most popular rooms.
Exclusive Luxury with Stunning Night Views: The 'Executive' Room Type (Only 2 Available)

The popular Executive rooms, favored by international visitors, feature windows on two sides, offering a panoramic view of Tokyo.
There's one King Room with a 200cm-wide bed and one Twin Room with two 140cm-wide beds, making these rooms extra special and available by phone reservation only.
These rooms are often chosen for special occasions or family stays.

The night views from these rooms are truly exceptional and guaranteed to leave you in awe!
The views from the Double Room are particularly breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama that includes Shinjuku Gyoen, Yoyogi Park, and Meiji Shrine. Many guests are amazed by how much greenery there is in Tokyo when they stay here.

The bathroom is spacious, featuring a separate shower in addition to the bathtub.
'Southern Tower' Type: King Room for Single Use

The room type with the most availability is the Southern Tower. There are 100 King Rooms and 40 Twin Rooms.
Many international guests prefer the spaciousness of the King Room even when traveling solo.
'Scenic' Type: Popular with Families

The Scenic rooms come in two options: a King Room with a 180cm-wide king bed, and a Twin Room with two 110cm-wide single beds. Both options offer 31 square meters of space, and there's room for an extra bed between the window and the bed, making them popular with families.
Children stay free of charge, up to age 12, if they share the bed with parents. The extra bed costs 4,000 yen. Additionally, baby cribs (for infants under 1 year old) are available upon request.
Staff's Top Pick: 'Panoramic' Type

The Southern Tower building has a unique triangular shape, and the Panoramic rooms are located at its very tip. Because of their position, these rooms have windows on two sides, offering a wider view of the Tokyo skyline. There are 26 rooms in both King and Twin configurations, and you can book them online.
Amenities and Services for a Comfortable Stay

To ensure a relaxing stay, the hotel provides only the essential services.
There's no bottled mineral water service, but each floor is equipped with a water dispenser offering both room-temperature and cold water. Guests can fill the stainless steel pitcher in their room with as much water as they need. Some guests even fill their own bottles or flasks to take with them.
You can boil water in the electric kettle in your room and enjoy the drip coffee provided. The hotel's signature coffee is well-loved for its delightful aroma and taste, and some guests even purchase it as a souvenir.
Instead of a minibar, the room features an empty refrigerator. You can store any food you've purchased from the convenience store located within the same tower.

The light switches are conveniently grouped together on the headboard, and each switch is clearly labeled with pictograms, making it easy to identify.
The provided room attire is a comfortable one-size-fits-all waffle-textured one-piece.
A lovely touch is the illustrated guide showing the view from each room's window. Since the building is uniquely triangular, the views include the towering skyscrapers of Shinjuku to the north, Yoyogi Park to the west, and Shinjuku Gyoen to the east.
Dining Choices at Odakyu Hotel Century Southern Tower
On the 20th floor of the hotel, you'll find Southern Tower Dining and Lounge South Court. Here, you can enjoy dishes made with locally sourced Tokyo vegetables and eggs.
Southern Tower Dining: All-Day Dining with an Urban View

Southern Tower Dining is an all-day dining restaurant with large windows offering a panoramic view of the Tokyo skyline. Guests can enjoy a morning buffet, as well as French-inspired courses and à la carte dishes for lunch and dinner.
One standout feature is the use of Tokyo-grown vegetables, carefully selected by the restaurant's head chef, Atsushi Ishikawa, who personally visits the farms. With a focus on health-conscious dining and a commitment to local produce, it's a favorite for those interested in farm-to-table meals.

The morning buffet was partially revamped in January 2025. The selection now includes a wider variety of drinks, cereals, and both hot and cold side dishes, for a more satisfying experience. Additionally, there's a new lineup of 'rice accompaniments,' perfect for those who enjoy rice with their meal.

The live kitchen, where chefs prepare dishes right in front of you, is also a popular feature. The eggs used here are locally sourced from Tokyo.
One standout dish is the 'Egg Florentine, Southern Tower Style,' which swaps the traditional poached egg for a uniquely Japanese onsen tamago (hot spring egg). The creamy whites and soft, runny yolk have a delightful texture.
Also new on the menu is 'Southern Tower's Special Spicy Curry,' a fresh take on the beloved Japanese comfort food, curry rice.

For lunch or dinner, be sure to try the 'Veggie-Full Course' featuring Tokyo-grown vegetables as the star ingredient.
Chef Ishikawa created this special menu to offer a truly memorable Japanese-style dining experience. Made entirely from Tokyo-sourced vegetables, this course not only tastes amazing but also provides the 350g of vegetables recommended for daily intake.
Additionally, with advance notice, this course can be customized as a vegan course.
For children under 12, there's a 'Kids' Plate' (3,000 yen) that comes with a choice of apple or orange juice.
Lounge South Court: Perfect for Relaxing After Check-Out

Adjacent to the lobby, Lounge South Court offers stunning views of Shinjuku's towering skyscrapers. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a variety of seasonal afternoon teas and cakes.

A standout is the 'Chef Patissier's Special Homemade Square French Toast' (3,100 yen), made with hotel-baked square bread and Tokyo-grown eggs. A true delight, it's served with honey harvested from a local apiary in Tokyo.
Best Shopping Near the Hotel

Within walking distance of the hotel, you'll find department stores like Shinjuku Takashimaya and Odakyu Department Store, as well as shopping malls offering a wide range of souvenirs, from traditional Japanese sweets to the latest Japanese-made products.
For clothing, you can head to Uniqlo, and for health needs, there's the major pharmacy chain Matsumoto Kiyoshi, both just around the corner — perfect for handling unexpected weather changes or minor health issues.
If you're in the mood for bargain shopping, Don Quijote (a 10-minute walk from the hotel) is a 24-hour discount store that sells everything from food and daily necessities to clothing, gadgets, and more. It's a great place for finding unique Japanese pop culture items, like anime and manga merchandise, perfect for souvenirs.

Shinjuku Gyoen: Enjoy Nature Troughout the Year
Visible from the hotel's rooms, Shinjuku Gyoen was established as a royal garden in 1906 and opened to the public in 1949 as a national park.
The garden beautifully combines European-style landscaping with traditional Japanese gardens. Spanning approximately 58.3 hectares, it's home to around 10,000 trees. The park is especially famous for its cherry blossoms, attracting many visitors during spring for the traditional Japanese custom of 'hanami' (flower viewing). The garden is about a 16-minute walk from the hotel.
