What makes this place special is its combination of farming and renewable energy. Around 25 varieties of blueberries are grown beneath solar panels, creating a fun and eco-friendly agritourism experience. A Quick Introduction to Seibu Agri
Seibu Agri is a subsidiary of Seibu Landscape Co., Ltd. Founded in April 2020, the company was created to put Seibu Group’s long-cultivated expertise in plant growing and park management to use in the agricultural field, while also supporting regional development and environmental sustainability.
In August 2021, Seibu Agri was officially certified as an agricultural land ownership corporation. Together with Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy, the company launched an agrivoltaics project in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, combining solar power generation with agriculture on land owned by the Seibu Group.
What Makes Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa Special?

As Seibu Group’s first agricultural business venture, Seibu Agri has spent years transforming a plot of unused land in Tokorozawa that had sat vacant for more than 40 years. Farming efforts began in 2021, and in June 2026 the site will officially reopen as Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa, a new sightseeing farm that blends renewable energy and agriculture.
Visitors can enjoy fruit picking, learn about plants and animals, and experience a different side of sustainable tourism just outside Tokyo.

Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa uses an innovative farming system known as agrivoltaics, where crops are grown beneath solar panels. Alongside blueberries, the park also cultivates fruits such as grapes beneath the solar arrays.
The electricity generated here is supplied to public facilities across Tokorozawa City through Tokorozawa Mirai Power. The project not only supports the city’s low-carbon initiatives, but also contributes to a more locally produced and locally consumed energy system.

Fruit picking is only part of the experience. The park is also home to two adorable goats that help manage weeds naturally, along with bees that assist with pollination.
Seasonal educational programs about plants and animals are planned throughout the year, and visitors can also shop for freshly harvested fruits grown on-site. It’s a fun place where both kids and adults can learn while enjoying nature.

There’s More to Explore Along the Seibu Railway Lines
Getting to Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa is easy via the Seibu Shinjuku Line, but that’s just the beginning. Seibu Railway also connects travelers to a wide variety of destinations around Tokyo and Saitama.
From the trendy shopping and anime culture of Ikebukuro to the nostalgic streets of Kawagoe and the scenic natural beauty of Chichibu, each stop offers something completely different. If you’re planning a blueberry-picking day trip, why not add a few more destinations to your adventure?
Fashion, Anime, and Aquariums: Ikebukuro

Ikebukuro, the starting point of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, is one of Tokyo’s top hubs for shopping, anime culture, and entertainment. Fans of anime and oshikatsu can spend hours exploring places like Animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store and K-BOOKS around the famous Otome Road area.
The district is also packed with major shopping complexes such as LUMINE, PARCO, and Sunshine City. Hidden among all the fashion and pop culture attractions is another surprise: an aquarium in the middle of the city.
Located on the rooftop of Sunshine City, Sunshine Aquarium features everything from jellyfish and coral to penguins and otters. One of its highlights is the open-air penguin tank, where the penguins appear to “fly” through the Tokyo skyline overhead. It’s one of those uniquely Tokyo experiences you won’t forget.

Nordic Fairy Tales and Forest Escapes: Hanno

Want to escape the city without traveling too far? Hop on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to Hanno and visit Moominvalley Park, a whimsical nature-filled destination inspired by the beloved Nordic stories.
Located beside Lake Miyazawa, Moominvalley Park is Japan’s first Moomin-themed park and spans an area roughly equal to four Tokyo Domes. Visitors can step inside beautifully recreated storybook buildings, enjoy themed food and merchandise, and watch live performances throughout the park.
It’s an immersive and relaxing getaway where you can spend an entire day surrounded by fairy-tale scenery.
Retro Streets and Edo-Era Charm: Kawagoe

Love Kyoto’s traditional atmosphere? Then Kawagoe, often nicknamed “Little Edo,” should absolutely be on your list. From Seibu Shinjuku Station, the limited express reaches Hon-Kawagoe Station in as little as 44 minutes.
Kawagoe once flourished as a castle town filled with merchants and bustling streets. Although a devastating fire in 1893 destroyed much of the area, several fire-resistant warehouse-style buildings known as kura-zukuri survived. After the disaster, many locals rebuilt using the same durable style, creating the beautifully preserved historical streetscape visitors see today.
While most buildings are not original Edo-period structures, the district still captures the nostalgic atmosphere of old Japan remarkably well.
Nature, Hot Springs, and River Adventures: Chichibu

Just a limited express ride away from Ikebukuro, Chichibu feels like a completely different world. Surrounded by mountains and nature, the area is famous for scenic landscapes, local food, relaxing hot springs, and outdoor adventures.
One of the most popular activities is the traditional river boat ride along the Arakawa River in Nagatoro. Guided by experienced boatmen using long bamboo poles, visitors drift through dynamic river currents while admiring the dramatic Nagatoro rock formations and seasonal scenery.
It’s equal parts sightseeing and adventure, making it a memorable experience for both adults and kids.
Hop on Seibu Railway and Discover a Different Side of Tokyo
Whether you want to experience the eco-friendly new Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa opening in June 2026, explore Ikebukuro’s mix of fashion and anime culture, wander through the fairy-tale world of Hanno, step back in time in Kawagoe, or enjoy the nature of Chichibu, Seibu Railway makes it all easy to reach.
