The theme for 2025 is “Shimmering Sound, Radiant Light, Christmas.” It is more than a beautiful display. This year features an extraordinary collaboration that crosses generations and borders: the globally adored character Barbapapa and the iconic Kansai music festival FM802 RADIO CRAZY.

As soon as you step off the Shinkansen or local train, an enchanting world unfolds before you. And with JR West’s convenient services available, you can dive right into the magic without worrying about your luggage.

The centerpiece of this year’s “Twilight Fantasy” is Toki no Hiroba, the expansive plaza above the JR Osaka Station platforms, along with the sweeping Grand Staircase beside it. Together, these vast spaces become the canvas for two themed collaborations, turning the station into an immersive, museum-like world of light, sound, and winter magic.

To mark the 55th anniversary of the beloved Barbapapa picture books, Toki no Hiroba and the Grand Staircase will burst into a lively, colorful world inspired by the entire Barbapapa family.

Grand Staircase: “Ornament rush!”
The Grand Staircase will be decorated with playful ornaments shaped like the Barbapapa family, creating a fun, overflowing display that makes the simple act of walking upward feel exciting.

Golden Clock Area: “Tree decoration!”
Around the iconic Golden Clock at the center of the plaza, a striking Christmas tree will appear as if Barbapapa and Barbamama are decorating it themselves. It is a charming focal point that instantly draws the eye.

Glowing Seating Area: “Rest to you”
A special rest zone will feature illuminated chairs shaped like members of the Barbapapa family. Visitors can sit back and enjoy the colorful scene from a relaxed vantage point.

There is also a free stamp rally throughout Osaka Station City. Collect all nine stamps and you can receive an original mini towel, available while supplies last. It is a fun activity for families, couples, and groups of friends exploring the area together.

Thanks to a special collaboration with FM802 RADIO CRAZY, one of Kansai’s biggest music festivals, this year’s event offers not only dazzling lights but an electrifying world of sound.

Main Area: “Crazy Tune Tunnel”
Step into a tunnel-shaped space where colorful lights pour down from above and glow beneath your feet. Paired with joyful Christmas music, it creates an immersive atmosphere that feels almost “crazy” in the best possible way.

Experience Area: “Connect to RADIO CRAZY”
Here you’ll find message displays from artists performing at the festival. It’s a must-see photo spot for fans and a rare chance to feel closer to your favorite musicians.

And at Bar Del Sole within Toki no Hiroba, a special collaboration café will offer limited-edition menu items created with six RADIO CRAZY artists. The café will also showcase photos from past live performances, making it a unique space to experience the heart of Japanese music culture.
