Shopping in Japan? Skip the Suitcase Struggle! BicCamera's Airport Delivery Service
- Written by: LIVE JAPAN Editor
When visiting Japan, it’s easy to go overboard on shopping, from cameras and high-tech gadgets to tasty Japanese snacks and beauty products. But hauling bulky bags through packed trains and busy stations can quickly take the fun out of it.
There’s a simple workaround many travelers overlook: Airport Delivery from BicCamera.
This option allows you to send your BicCamera purchases directly to your departure airport, so you can continue exploring the city without being weighed down.

How the Service Works

At participating BicCamera stores, you can shop as usual and take your time choosing what you want.
When you’re ready to pay, head to the Tax-Free Counter and let the staff know you’d like to use airport delivery before checkout begins. (At that time, you can also share your discount coupon from Live Japan to save up to an additional 7%.) They’ll guide you through a quick setup process and confirm that your items are eligible for shipment.
You’ll be asked to provide the following:
・Your passport
・Your flight details (departure date/time, flight number, and airport)
・A reachable phone number (especially important if you’re using a travel eSIM)
Once everything is confirmed, your purchases will be packed and shipped directly to your departure airport. From there, they’ll be held securely until your travel day, when you can pick them up at a dedicated counter before your flight. And you can enjoy the rest of your trip without lugging around extra baggage!
Fees and Conditions

Participating BicCamera stores offer two delivery options for merchandise purchased there: BicCamera’s in-house airport service or shipping via Yamato Transport.
This guide focuses primarily on BicCamera’s in-house delivery process, as it’s the most straightforward option for many travelers. That said, Yamato Transport is a useful alternative to keep in mind, especially for more flexible itineraries. Both are reliable, but they serve slightly different needs depending on your itinerary.
BicCamera’s in-house service is generally the more convenient choice.
・Because items can be shipped directly from the warehouse, some products may still be available for purchase even if they are out of stock at the store (as of April 15, 2026).
・For certain items, a handle can be attached to the outer box, making it convenient to carry directly to the airport check-in counter.
・Typical delivery to Narita and Haneda airports is after 3 days (after 2 days for Kansai International Airport)
・Flat rate: 2,420 yen per item (free for purchases over 100,000 yen, excluding tax)
・Size/weight limit: up to 200 cm total (length + width + height) and 30 kg per item
・Simple process handled entirely at the Tax-Free Counter
・Best suited for travelers entering and leaving from the same region
On the other hand, Yamato Transport offers more flexibility, especially for multi-city trips.
・Typically faster delivery, often after 2 days
・Size/weight limit: up to 200 cm total (length + width + height) and 30 kg per item
・Can ship to a wider range of airports across Japan
・Fees start from around 1,600 yen per item (varies by size and route; from Tokyo to Haneda or Narita, a 200 cm-sized parcel up to 30 kg may cost around 5,130 yen per item)
・See details about Yamato Transport’s airport delivery service and rates here
In short, BicCamera’s in-house airport delivery service offers the reassurance of a flat-rate fee, making it a simple and convenient option, though the number of participating stores is limited. Meanwhile, Yamato’s airport delivery service may be worth considering if you want more flexibility, such as departing from a different city or airport.
Note that additional restrictions may apply, including limits on what items can be delivered. For example, only items with a declared value of 300,000 yen or less per package are eligible, and payment must be completed in-store, as cash-on-delivery service is not available. Be sure to speak with BicCamera staff at checkout to confirm the details.
What to Expect on Pickup Day

Picking up your package at the airport is very straightforward. Arrive at your departure airport a little earlier than usual, in case there are lines at the pickup point. Bring your passport and receipt to the pickup counter and let the staff know you are picking up your purchase from BicCamera. They’ll then process your request and hand over your purchase.
An important note is that, since passports are used to verify identity, the person who purchased the items must be the one collecting them. So, family members cannot pick up items on behalf of other family members.
Also, be sure to collect your items before checking in for your flight. If you have an early morning departure, it’s especially important to confirm the airport counter’s operating hours and your check-in time before using the airport delivery service.
