Japan's Spectacular 'Heavenly Dahlia Festival': 30,000 Colorful Flowers in Front of Mount Fuji!
- Written by: Timothy Sullivan
From around July 14 until October 7, right at the base of Japan's most majestic mountain, the Heavenly Dahlia Festival is held at the Grinpa Amusement Park! Here you can enjoy the gorgeous view of Mt. Fuji together with around 30,000 Dahlias in bloom.

Dahlias, which bloom from summer to early autumn, are characterized by their large wreaths. Since the shape and color of the flowers and petals differ depending on the variety, each flower is very unique. One of the simple pleasures of visiting is to find your favorite Dahlia in the garden!

Plus, with the "Instaworthy" photo booth you can easily snap a selfie or a photo together with your favorite friends with the breathtaking 360-degree panorama behind you. With Mt. Fuji and the flowers, you're sure to be the envy of all your followers!
If you travel with your pets, they're welcome too! Every Saturday during the festival, be sure to snap a photo of you and your favorite canine. A different theme - like White Doggie Day or Japanese Dog Day - is listed each day on the website. If your dog matches with the theme, you can even get entry at a special reduced price.
Entry into the park is 1200yen for adults, children and senior, plus 800 yen for canine companions. But on the 11th of each month - “Wanwan Day (Doggy Day)” - dogs can get in for just 650 yen!
Grinpa is little cooler in temperature than Tokyo and easy to hang around! And at just 90 minutes away from the bustling metro, it's a perfect summer day trip destination.
