Description
This ancient shrine was built during the imperial reign of Emperor Suinin (29 BCE – 70 CE). The deity enshrined here is said to be Sarutahiko, who is worshiped as the deity of longevity and marriage. The mystical scenery at this shrine, referred to as “Omi no Itsukushima”, is very popular.
