Description
The name derives from the conversations that soon-to-be Emperor Tenji had with Fujiwara no Kamatari at the back of the main hall regarding the Taika reforms. Fujiwara no Kamatari's oldest son is believed to have moved his father's remains to the 13-story pagoda here. Its crimson hall amidst quiet mountains makes for a beautiful sight.
