This old buddist temple is worth seeing and not overcrowded. The gardens and the outside sections are the major sight here. A place well worth visiting.Visited April 2026 -

The oldest Buddhist Zen temple and meditation hall in Japan. Just stunning architecture, beautiful gardens and it felt so peaceful. One of my favorite places in Kyoto.Visited July 2025
