Enjoy Kyoto Nightlife! 3 Kyoto Clubs Recommended for Foreign Visitors
- Written by: WESTPLAN
Experience Japan's traditional culture first-hand in Kyoto. But once dusk approaches, it's time to enjoy Kyoto nightlife. Wrap up your day of sightseeing in the best possible way: by dancing the night away at a club!
Here are three Kyoto clubs in the vibrant tourist city that we recommend for foreigners!
1. KITSUNE KYOTO: Two floors of excitement
KITSUNE KYOTO is a popular club frequented by various guests, ranging from first-timers to veterans. Equipped with the global standard UK/Martin Audio system, as well as state-of-the-art lighting and video, this club will make you want to party forever!
The club is split into two floors: "LAND" on the third floor and "SEA" on the fourth. LAND is open Thursday through Sunday, as well as for themed events. In addition to a selection of Hip-Hop, Reggae, House/Electro, etc., that you will love, there are also food booths and promotion booths that are bound to catch your eye.
SEA is known for its exciting mixed-genre music. It's recommended for those just looking to have a good time. With smoking and non-smoking areas completely separated, non-smokers can thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Complete with appearances by top artists and collaborations with fashion brands, KITSUNE KYOTO is an avant-garde club. Be sure to check out the latest attraction in the tourist city of Kyoto.

3. CLUB METRO: Kyoto club that's music-enthusiast approved!
Not only will this club get your blood pumping, but it will also immerse you in the world of music. Opened in 1990, CLUB METRO is a well-established club that we recommend for music enthusiasts.
It has an extensive music genre that includes House music, Techno, Hip-Hop, Electronica, Reggae, Rock, J-Pop, and more, and it also hosts live concerts. The club boosts Kyoto's culture by hosting various events such as "METRO DAIGAKU" classes (an "evening culture school"), movie screenings and poetry readings, rakugo storytelling, and more.
This club for music enthusiasts has a diverse clientele as well as guests of varying race and sex. CLUB METRO has also been introduced on foreign sites such as Australia's dance music site Music Junkee (formerly inthemix) and London's travel site The Culture Trip. Get the most "Kyoto" out of your trip and wrap up your day by getting lost in the profound music at this well-established club.

Things to keep in mind when going to a club in Kyoto
All clubs check ID so be sure to bring your passport if you are a foreign tourist (or residence card if you are a resident). If you forget to bring your passport (or other ID), you will most likely be barred from entry.
Please make sure you are presentable and refrain from immoderate exposure (and excessively casual clothes). Please act responsibly, use your manners, and have fun!
