These botanical gardens take up roughly 240,000 square kilometers along the Kamo river. The park opened in 1924 during the Taisho period. Approximately 12,000 species of flowers and trees are cultivated in gardens and conservatories, making these gardens the largest in Japan. The gardens can be enjoyed throughout all four seasons.
