Hotel Nikko Himeji is a luxury hotel located in front of Himeji Station. Besides accommodating overnight stays, this hotel provides a reception area, wedding venue, restaurants, and a fitness gym. Room 257, with its stylish interior and calm colors, offers a classy ambiance. The room is furnished with a comfortable bed and duvet bedding.
Moreover, the Nikko floor, located on the 13th and 14th floor, draws inspiration from the white walls of Himeji Castle, the green of fresh green leaves, and the pink of cherry blossoms in its interior design. This luxurious stay is rated as thoroughly enjoyable. Besides having staff who speak English and Japanese, it’s a relief to know that this hotel offers pamphlets and brochures in English.
The perfect restaurant & bar available for every occasion!
This hotel offers a wide variety of cuisines ranging from buffet-style dining to Japanese cuisine, along with very attractive restaurants and bars. At the restaurant, All Day Dining Serena, a bright, open-space is available for casual use from breakfast until dinner.
In addition to this, you can enjoy specially-made cakes by pastry chefs at the Tea Lounge Fountain. Also, the Chinese restaurant Toh-lee provides famous Cantonese-style dishes, and Teppanyaki Icho utilizes the freshest of ingredients.

3. Yumenoian Yuyake-Koyake: A cozy, traditional Japanese inn where you can enjoy exquisite cuisine
Shiota Onsen is approximately 30 minutes by taxi, and 40 minutes on the Shinki bus from JR Himeji Station. With a spring that has been bubbling for the past 300 years, the quiet countryside of Harima Province is the only hot spring village in the area. This is the perfect getaway for people who not only want to sightsee around Himeji Station but also want to freshen up by relaxing in a hot spring.
Yumenoian Yuyake-Koyake is a hot spring inn that is very particular about its cuisine and ambiance. This inn is located close to Banshuji, an area that has a nostalgic townscape. The inn is very easy to access with a free shuttle bus leaving from Himeji Station.
Four different kinds of rooms are available at this inn where time passes quietly. This ranges from single rooms with a deck terrace and an open-air bath made from hinoki cypress to superior rooms with twin beds, a relaxing backyard terrace, and an open-air rock bath made from granite. All 17 rooms come with their own open-air baths.
The chef uses carefully selected seasonal ingredients to make original kaiseki, a traditional Japanese course dinner. These dishes are beautifully arranged onto order-made plates and paired with delicious spirits unique to the area.
Having a view of the village mountains all to yourself while bathing is an exceptional experience.
In addition to the open-air baths that come with each room, you can use the Private Vista, a private bath in a relaxing, spa-like space, all to yourself.
Tefutefu has a relaxation space with a suspended chair made from wisteria and an indoor steam bath. What’s more, Tonbu, equipped with its own hammock, offers a space to lie down and unwind after a bath.
Although these two reservable private baths provide different enjoyments, they are both the epitome of luxury. You can enjoy beautiful views from the privacy of these hot springs. Because reservation is required, it is recommended that you try to find a slot during your check-in.

4. Yumoto Ueyama Ryokan: Rejuvenate both body and soul at this 300-year-old Himeji ryokan inn
Established in 1874, the Yumoto Ueyama Ryokan at Shiota Onsen is tucked away in the abundant nature of the mountain. Handed down from generation to generation for more than 300 years, this inn boasts a hot spring that uses water from its own natural sources.
There are four main types of accommodation. Some come with a natural hot spring attached to the room, making you feel like you’re in your own vacation villa. Others give you the option of either a Japanese-style room or a Japanese and Western guest room.
These rooms offer beautiful views of the maple tree forest from their large window. Another attractive feature is that you can choose a room according to your price range.
Feel soothed with the views offered throughout the seasons, including fresh greenery in the summer, foliage in the fall, and snowscapes in the winter. The inn even has an English floor guide as well as translating devices.
Enjoy a moment of luxury at the rare private spring source along with the season’s original kaiseki.
Shiota Onsen boasts a high-quality spring due to its natural source. The source is a drinkable sodium hydrogen carbonate base said to taste like “salty soda”.
You can fully enjoy the very natural and freeing, open-air bath at this famous hot spring. What’s more, there’s an open-air family bath, where, if unoccupied, you can lock the facility and use it privately without any worries.
Offering a dinner to look forward to, the seasonal kaiseki cuisine is recommended. This particular course brings a myriad of seasonal ingredients together, creating dishes centered around Japanese cuisine. One dish, Yutsubo congee, even uses spring water from the facility. Enjoy the traditional flavors of Ueyama Ryokan to your fill.
