High temperatures and horrendous humidity can make even the most exciting summer vacation feel like a drag. But don't let the weather steal your sunshine! Here are some new items hitting shelves at Loft that will help you beat the heat, whether you're out and about, or chilling at home (literally!) with the family.
Stay Cool and In Style with Loft's "Cool Style"
Summertime may be hot, hot, hot, but these items from Loft will have you feeling and looking cool! This season, popular Japanese department store Loft is offering a new line of summer items, appropriately named COOL STYLE, to help you stay fresh.
Whether you're vacationing under the hot sun, taking it easy at home, or settling in for a good night's sleep, Loft has you covered!
SUO 28° ICE Cool Backpack
The SUO 28° ICE Cool Backpack (by WIZ) is a brand-new cooling cushion that regulates your body temperature by freezing or melting gradually, depending on the temperature. It naturally freezes at 28°C (hence the name), and because the change is gradual, there's no condensation, keeping your body cool and your clothes dry.
Anyone can use it, whether you're on vacation, working an outdoor job, or simply gardening in your yard. You can even wear it indoors when cooking on a hot day! The possibilities are endless. The ICE Cool Backpack is available in two colors (black/blue), and hits shelves early July at 6,050 yen each.
iCool Porta
The iCool Porta (by elaice) is a rechargeable, portable cooler that lets you quickly and easily chill out when you're on the go! Apply the rapid-cooling plate, chilled to about 15°C, directly to your palms or neck. The main body also contains an antibacterial agent to suppress the growth of bacteria! Available in two colors (white/blue) at 3,278 yen each.
Snow Water for Masks Pocket
Don't like smelling your own breath under your mask? Snow Water for Masks Pocket is a mask spray (by Daily Aroma Japan) that not only refreshes you, but deodorizes and sterilizes your mask with a crisp, citrus scent. With a single spray, you can stay safe while also staying cool! Snow Water is made with 99% natural ingredients and sells for 715 yen per bottle.
THERMO Lab Cool Pillow
Summer sweats can be a cause for restless nights, but this item (by Keitei) is your solution! The THERMO Lab Cool Pillow can be used at room temperature as-is, or chilled after placing it in the refrigerator. Stay cool all night long without getting the chills. They are available in two colors (blue/beige) at 2,200 yen each. Larger cooling pads for your back are also available for 3,850 yen.
Kyo Somen
If it's too hot to cook, invite the family to some chilled noodles! Nagashi Somen (Flowing cold noodles) is a popular Japanese summer dish, usually only served in specialty shops. But with Kyo Somen (by Doshisha), you can now enjoy these noodles in the comfort of your air-conditioned home! Arrange the pieces at different heights and angles, or connect them together for an extra-long noodle slide that the entire family can enjoy! Available at 5,478 yen.
Otona Cordless Fluffy Shaved Ice Machine
Shaved ice is a fun summer treat, but unfortunately, the fun doesn't last very long in the hot outdoors. Luckily, this Fluffy Ice Cream Machine (by Doshisha) brings the frozen fun right into your kitchen!
It's cordless and convenient and has multiple settings for varying degrees of coarseness. Available for 4,378 yen. Whether it's shaved ices for the kids, or drinks for the folks, people of all ages will enjoy making and eating these treats. How about a frozen dessert after your chilled noodle dinner?
