On June 5, Sanrio opened the doors to SANRIO CAFE Ikebukuro. A directly-operated and permanent cafe on the first basement floor of Sunshine City Alpa in Ikebukuro, it's sure to put a smile on all Sanrio fans' faces.
SANRIO CAFE Ikebukuro is composed of two areas: a standard cafe space and a cafe wagon corner dedicated to takeaway. Here you can enjoy eating and drinking in the cafe space surrounded by your favorite Sanrio characters, or get some of the delightful drinks and sweets to go.
Cafe Space: Enjoy Pancakes and Latte Art Featuring Popular Sanrio Characters!
The cafe space is set up near the park and cafe wagon. It is separated from the take-out corner by walls and doors, so you can enjoy your meal in a calm atmosphere.

Sweets & Original Merch! Cafe Wagon Corner Serves Outstanding Takeout
The cafe wagon corner, which specializes in sweets and drinks for takeout, is right at the shop gate.
Sweets are the main menu item here. In addition to "Hello Kitty Yaki Donuts" (230-250 yen), "Daifuku 4-Piece Set" (800 yen), various drinks (250 yen each), "Crepes" (600 yen each) and "Ice cream" (500 yen each) are available.
Also, original merch is on sale at the cafe wagon corner. Some of the highlights include the "Mini Tote" (2 types; 800 yen each), "Key Holder" (20 types in total; 500 yen each), "Can Badge" (2 types; 300 yen each), "Clear File" (2 types; 200 yen each), and "Fluffy Mascot" (4 types; 800 yen each). COVID Measures are Perfect! Healing Cafe Filled with Kawaii
At Sanrio Cafe Ikebukuro, as a measure against Covid, employees are wearing masks, washing and sanitizing their hands, and conducting thorough health management. And to maintain social distancing, the policy is to provide seat guidance with a vacant seat between guests. Plus, hand sanitizer is available; a plastic sneeze guard is in front of the cash register; and frequent cleaning of the store using a disinfectant solution is performed.
In addition to striving to maintain a good social distance between customers, a coin tray is used for cash and card payments.
As a customer, you will be asked to wear a mask when you come to the store, line up at intervals of 1.5 m when you are waiting for the cashier, and cover your mouth or nose with a mask or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. But if you feel unwell, try visiting the shop another time when feeling better.
