Yojiya Cafe: The specialty of the Amaou Fair is the dessert platter limited to 20 plates per day!
Founded 116 years ago, Yojiya offers oil-blotting papers that are now a popular Kyoto souvenir. In addition to this, it’s also known for developing a range of products including ones for basic skincare and cosmetics.
As of Monday, March 1st, 2021, this shop's Yojiya Cafe is holding the Amaou Fair for a limited time. The fair serves desserts using the <Amaou|i@> strawberry-a large, red, and sweet strawberry brand from Fukuoka.
Because these are the only ones that are used, you can fully enjoy the seasonal Amaou strawberry in every dessert.
The specialty is the Amaou strawberry platter, where you can try seven bite-sized strawberry desserts. This platter is limited to 20 plates per day, and each plate is handmade by the pastry chef. It is outstandingly popular due to being the first dessert platter to be served at Yojiya Cafe.
In addition to this dessert, we're introducing four others below. In total, there are five kinds of desserts on the menu. It’s hard to choose which one you’ll want to try!
This combines the representative strawberry dessert of strawberry shortcake with Yojiya Cafe’s staple known as the face-logo parfait.
This dessert uses two kinds of cream cheese. The flaky and crispy texture of the cheesecake acts as an accent to the dish.
The Yojiya cappuccino, a standard at Yojiya Cafe incorporating the shop’s representative logo, has been transformed into a limited-edition version served at the Amaou Fair.
This is a very cute drink with its light pink coloring and heart-shaped strawberries.

Fukucha: The three matcha and strawberry parfait sisters have made it back this year
Since being founded in 1790, the tea house Fukujuen has concentrated on and continued down the path of tea. This long-established shop in Kyoto has also produced the cafe, Fukucha.
Here, the limited-edition parfaits that were extremely popular in 2020 have made a comeback! Given the name, the three strawberry-sisters who fell in love with matcha, these parfaits make matcha and strawberries the main event. You can enjoy these desserts until May 30th, where a limit of ten of each parfait is available per day.
The third and youngest of the strawberry sisters is a matcha and strawberry fondue. Please try this dessert by dipping strawberries, bean-jam-filled wafers, and bracken-starch jellies into slightly bitter matcha chocolate. The presentation is meant to express the cuteness of the youngest sister.
The second and middle sister is a matcha and strawberry tiramisu. Matcha sauce and strawberries are hidden in the mascarpone cream. The presentation is meant to represent the slightly more sophisticated sister’s stylish dress.
The eldest sister is called the brilliant strawberry. You can find melty, strawberry-flavored cream cheese inside the candy coating. Hidden under this is a decadent matcha-chocolate Bavarian cream. The presentation is meant to express the sophistication of the eldest sister by using the elegance of a pearl as a motif.
What’s more, there’s a new takeout-only menu. The strawberry and matcha milk parfait layer milk jelly on top of the thick matcha-chocolate Bavarian cream. This is topped with strawberries, raspberries, and tiny pancakes.
Please enjoy the strawberry matcha latte which combines a rich, flavor-filled matcha latte with seasonal, sweet and tangy strawberries.

Salon De The Morozoff Kobe: Kobe-exclusive parfaits and Waffles made from Hyogo Prefecture’s strawberries
Morozoff, a long-established Western-style confectionery maker, has introduced a springtime-limited menu at their cafe Salon De The Morozoff Kobe! This consists of using Ama Queen strawberries, a large and sweet type of strawberry from Nishiwaki in Hyogo Prefecture. Starting from March 1st, this is a special dessert that will stop service once all of the strawberries are gone.
Ama Queen strawberries are an original type of strawberry from Hyogo Prefecture. It combines Tochiotome strawberries - a variety from Tochigi Prefecture - and Saganohoka strawberries - a variety from Saga Prefecture.
Shinoda Strawberry Farm’s Ama Queen strawberry and pudding parfait use a lot of these Ama Queen strawberries. In addition to the refined flavors of the strawberries, it incorporates the shop’s homemade vanilla ice cream with smooth and delicate custard pudding. You can enjoy this special parfait only at the shop in Kobe.
The next dessert is the waffle with Ama Queen strawberries from Shinoda Strawberry Farm. This dessert tops Morozoff’s popular waffles with Ama Queen strawberries. At the shop, you can experience the deliciousness of homemade waffles and vanilla gelato in addition to the taste of the fragrant berry.
