With hanami being the Japanese word to describe the traditional custom of cherry blossom viewing, the boxes were made with the intention of enjoying this activity for short periods of time in addition to welcoming the arrival of spring from your home.
All of these colorful options are sure to be a hit on any social media page! Here we will introduce carefully selected dessert boxes filled with flavors unique to the season.
InterContinental Osaka: A hanami dessert box filled with cherry blossoms and seasonal fruits
At the InterContinental Osaka, original hanami dessert boxes are sold every year. In 2021, it offers flavors such as an acidic and fruity cherry blossom tartlet that incorporates citrus fruits from Awaji Island.
Another dessert is the strawberry swiss roll with cherry blossom cream. This dessert’s sweet cream and fragrance of cherry blossom will slowly unfold onto your tastebuds. Both of these are refined cherry blossom desserts.
Furthermore, due to the hotel being more meticulous in choosing the variety of strawberries used, this year offers an especially luxurious experience.
This box is filled to the brim with adorable pink desserts. This includes cherry blossom and Uji green tea shortcake, a mini dessert burger made with cherry blossoms and Sakura Momo strawberries-a large and sweet luxury strawberry from Tokushima Prefecture, chocolate-dipped Amaou strawberries-a sweet and large strawberry brand from Fukuoka Prefecture, sakura mochi- a pink rice cake filled with sweet red bean paste, and a cherry blossom macaroon.

The Westin Miyako Kyoto: An Elegant Dessert Box with Japanese Flavors
Cherry blossom dessert boxes are being sold starting March 20, 2021 at The Westin Miyako Kyoto. Nine desserts that use cherry blossoms as a motif and incorporate their flavors are elegantly arranged in a little box. It’s perfect for hanami or as a way to celebrate graduation and entrance ceremonies.
Starting with sakura mochi and a cherry blossom flavored green tea swiss roll, the cherry blossom dessert box comes with nine different kinds of dessert.
This also includes cherry blossom flavored French chocolate almond cake, cherry blossom flavored Ispahan macaroons, cherry blossom flavored opera cake, a cherry blossom flavored strawberry tart, a cherry blossom-shaped cookie, cherry blossom flavored shortcake, and a cherry blossom flavored cheese mousse.
Although it has been difficult to go out lately, there’s no doubt that you’ll be able to experience the arrival of spring with this special dessert box.

The Westin Miyako Kyoto: A set where you can even enjoy cherry blossom afternoon tea at home
The Westin Miyako Kyoto also provides afternoon tea take-out. The seasonal afternoon tea set started from February 15th. Until March 15th, a strawberry afternoon tea set was available. From March 16th, it has changed to the cherry blossom afternoon tea set. This set is filled with bright baby pink, cherry blossom-flavored desserts.
Besides the desserts, there are two types of jams for scones as well as four kinds of Jing Tea teabags. To make this experience even more authentic, it also comes with a three-tier cake stand! Enjoy an elegant afternoon tea experience like one at a hotel from the comforts of your home. The sets are only available in the afternoon around tea time, and you must make a reservation at least a day in advance.
