What's at Tokyo Dome City? Restaurants, stores, a spa, an amusement park, and more!

Tokyo Dome City is the expansive complex surrounding both Tokyo Dome, where professional baseball games are held, and the Tokyo Dome Hotel.

Various facilities are on offer, including LaQua, which is a spa complex including stores and restaurants, as well as the Tokyo Dome City Attractions amusement park, which is free to enter. Couples, families, and solo travelers can all find something fun to do at any time of year.

Situated only 11 minutes from Tokyo Station, four minutes from Akihabara Station, and 14 minutes from Shinjuku Station by train, Tokyo Dome City is conveniently located in the heart of Tokyo. With around 38 million visitors a year, the complex is always lively with tourists from Japan and abroad.

There's tons of fun to be had at Tokyo Dome City. Let’s see what they have in store! Since it's right next to Suidobashi Station on the JR Sobu Line, it's easy to find without getting lost in the city.

You'll be blown away by its size when you visit Tokyo Dome. In Japan, Tokyo Dome has become synonymous with massiveness, so much so that "as big as Tokyo Dome" has become a common phrase to mean something is ridiculously huge.

Tokyo Dome City Attractions, located inside Tokyo Dome City, is an urban amusement park that's free to enter. Teacups, a merry-go-round, and more whimsical rides are fun for the entire family.

For thrill-seekers, there's the Thunder Dolphin roller coaster. The heart-stopping highlight of the ride is when the coaster whizzes right through the wall of LaQua. Twisting and turning beneath the skyscrapers of downtown Tokyo, you'll feel like you're racing through the city, like something from a video game.

At night, you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the sparkling lights of Tokyo beneath the stars. Until you reach the coaster's peak, that is, where you'll plummet downward at an exhilarating 130 km/h (about 80 mph).

Another popular attraction is Wonder Drop, which features a three-story plunge into water. You'll be soaked afterward, but the thrill is worth it. Ponchos are available for 150 yen each if you prefer staying dry.

The Big-O Ferris wheel symbolizes Tokyo Dome City and the world's first karaoke Ferris wheel. Sing your heart out as you gaze at the beautiful city beneath you!

Everyone can sing along to popular anime theme songs, like Neon Genesis Evangelion's "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" or "Gurenge" from Demon Slayer, which fans from overseas are sure to know, too. You can choose to ride the Big-O with or without karaoke.

Visit Spa LaQua for some well-earned relaxation after a day of fun

After a thrilling day at Tokyo Dome City Attractions, head to Spa LaQua to unwind. Though you may not expect it in the heart of Tokyo, the spa offers natural hot springs that originate some 1,700 meters underground.

Take relaxation to a whole new level in Spa LaQua's beautiful Healing Baden. It's an adult's paradise styled after a tropical resort, with a spacious relaxation area, a bedrock sauna where you can lounge on heated slabs of stone, and more.

Healing Baden is always kept slightly warm to add to the tropical resort atmosphere. Find bliss as you luxuriate in a lounge chair, enjoying the spectacular view through a massive picture window.

The outdoor area, Rendezvous Square, sports a delightful footbath with a panoramic view of Tokyo Dome City. It's the perfect place to cool down after heating up in the sauna.

In addition to the bedrock sauna, you won't want to miss the other gorgeous rest areas on offer. Float away on a fluffy cloud beneath a rainbow in the ethereal Saikuden room or chill in the otherworldly Kakyobo cool sauna, where you'll be cocooned in mirrors.

If you want to use the facilities at Healing Baden, all you need to do is inquire at the counter. No reservation is required, so you can enter whenever you please.

Even with all these exciting activities on offer, we can't forget another specialty of Tokyo Dome City: delicious food! At the GO-FUN food court, you can choose from a wide variety of mouth-watering options, including plenty of seasonal, uniquely Japanese dishes.

Tons of Japanese delicacies are on offer, including thick Sanuki udon noodles, oyako-don (chicken and egg rice bowl), and seafood ramen noodles. For those with a sweet tooth, there's even an ice cream shop run by a ranch that sells creamy parfaits and soft-serve ice cream. Because there's so much to choose from, everyone in your group can find something they love.

Besides the food court, there are many restaurants and sweet shops in LaQua and the rest of Tokyo Dome City to enjoy. If the weather permits, we recommend taking food to go and relaxing outdoors.

Play, eat, and relax at the spa. And after a full day of fun, call it a night at the Tokyo Dome Hotel. Since it's so close by, you can walk straight there after visiting the spa without needing to bother with public transportation.

The Tokyo Dome Hotel stands at an impressive 43 stories high. The upper floors, 35 through 38, are the Premium Floors, while 39 through 41 are the Executive Floors, all of which were renovated in the spring of 2023. There are Park Side (north-facing) rooms with a view of Tokyo Dome City, and Palace Side (south-facing) rooms with a view of the Marunouchi commercial district and the Imperial Palace.

When you stay on the highest floors, the Executive Floors, you get a stunning panoramic view of Tokyo all to yourself. Turn off the lights and soak in the city's glittering night view. On a clear morning from Palace Side rooms, you can watch the sunrise behind Mt. Fuji, a genuinely powerful sight.

Executive Suites have Engawa benches that line the windows and provide an ideal perch to take in the view. "Engawa" are enclosed verandas common in traditional Japanese architecture, which these benches emulate. Their sleek wooden design is at once comforting and modern. Drink in the lovely sight of Tokyo, a city that never sleeps, as it sparkles all night long.
