1. Kabuku Resort (Mie Prefecture): Relax your body and mind with extravagant BBQ and Finnish sauna
The entirety of Mie Prefecture's Shima City can be found inside Ise-Shima National Park. Scattered in and around this city's bay is a series of islands.
Here also lies the nature-rich glamping complex, Kabuku Resort. Situated a mere 15 minutes away from Kintetsu Railway's Ugata Station, it's right next to Ichigohama - Strawberry Beach!
In April 2022, Kabuka Resort reopened as a wellness retreat-enabling its guests to enjoy overnight glamping as well as day-stay BBQ trips.
In addition to offering free usage of its pool and skateboarding area, each tent comes with its own sauna! Made with Owase Hinoki cypress, these original saunas are also available to those staying just for the day.
This facility is offering a one-night, two-day package deal to commemorate its renewal.
With meals and a sauna included, deals start from 23,000 yen per person (each tent fits two to four people, and packages are 30% off until June 2022)!
Though sauna temperatures are maintained at a lower than usual 60 to 70 degrees Celsius, you're sure to work up a sweat when partaking in Löyly - a method of creating steam by throwing aromatic water on hot stones.
This package also comes with a drum can bath experience! These are enjoyed by filling a drum can with water, starting a fire, and waiting for it to heat up until it's time to bathe.
With staff helping you build the fire and the facility lending you all necessary supplies, it's a fun activity that even beginner campers can enjoy!
In taking countermeasures against Covid-19, a pergola has been prepared for guests to enjoy their BBQ dinner safely! Here lies a spread of freshly caught seafood, beef, chicken, and miso paste-covered pork.
Furthermore, you can make mini mayo and corn pizzas on a cast-iron skillet using stones from the sauna (this cooking class is available until June 2022).
Sinking your teeth into a freshly baked pie after working up a sweat in the sauna is a rejuvenating experience like no other!
The facility's luxurious tent comes with a bed, air conditioning, heating, and a fridge. Through using translation devices, services that accommodate foreign guests are also offered.
One such guest commented: "Being surrounded by a starry sky while a bonfire blazed was an unbelievably healing experience."

This area is home to Nijigen no Mori, a theme park in Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park centering around anime, technology, and nature.
At the theme park's most elevated point, you'll find Grand Chariot Hokuto Shichisei 135°. This facility is around an hour's drive from Osaka Prefecture and a 30-minute drive from Kobe Prefecture.
As its name suggests, it's situated at 135 degrees longitude-which is also the Japan Standard Time Meridian. This facility offers stays at comfortable villa-style accommodations.
Enjoy the gentle breeze as Akashi Strait's blue waters and Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge - the world's largest suspension bridge - stretches out before you.
Offering spaces filled with aromatic and warm wood, there are 23 guest rooms called cocoons. Besides the standard villa-style rooms, six character rooms are available! These include the Crayon Shin-chan room, Ora no Cocoon; the Dragon Quest room, Slime no Cocoon; the Hello Kitty room, Hello Kitty Star Cocoon; and the Naruto room, Hokage Villa.
Some of the rooms even allow you to stay with your beloved pet!
There are staff who speak English, Chinese, and Korean stationed at the facility (for those who would like an interpreter, please let staff know when making a reservation), Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire facility.
Chef Hal Yamashita, winner of the world's best chef award at the highly-acclaimed World Gourmet Summit, has produced the restaurant's menu.
Some of the mouth-watering dishes served include Awaji Beef Sankai Tomato Sukiyaki as well as a creamy sea urchin hot pot using top-quality red sea urchin from Yura.
Additionally, creative Japanese courses that use Awaji Island's best ingredients are also a superb option! Ingredients in these courses include Awaji beef - an elegantly sweet, marbled brand of beef that melts at the temperature of body heat, as well as eel and fresh vegetables cooked in a Japanese cast-iron pot.
Chariot de Esthetic is a luxurious, private spa facility that has both an enzyme bath and sauna. Furthermore, in the evenings, we recommend stopping by Hoshizora no Bar to enjoy original cocktails inspired by the 12 constellations.
Some comments from foreign guests include: "We were able to enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine in a new way.", and "We were moved by the staff's incredible hospitality."
