You will get a feel for the close ties between Yugawara and Yoritomo Minamoto as you take in sights such as Joganji Temple, Sanehira’s family temple, the Doi castle ruins (at the peak of Mt. Shiroyama), and Shitodo Cave. The grassy meadow of the picnic area is a best place to stop and have lunch. The superb view from the top of Mt. Shiroyama enables you to look over Sagami Bay, as well as the Izu Peninsula, and even as far as Hatsushima and Oshima islands.
It proudly boats fluffy powder snow!! Though it is a little hard to reach, you will be absolutely satisfied.
With the latest ice crushing system it is now possible to ski from November.
You can ski down a 4.3km long slope, enjoying Pacific Ocean views. It is safe driving to the ski resort because the approacing road is facilitated with a snow melting feature.

The Tamura Sake Brewery is a long established Sake Brewery dating back to1882. Its representative brand is ”Kasen”.
It is a daihonzan major temple of Nichiren-school Buddhism. Various historical buildings remain on the temple precincts, such as the Daido large hall, the Honden main hall, the Tahoto jeweled pagoda, and a five-story pagoda.
