The Magic of teamLab
An innovative art collective renowned for its immersive digital installations, teamLab seeks to break down the barriers between art and nature. With a mission to create experiences that encourage connection, interaction, and engagement, teamLab transforms traditional perceptions of art in its different installations around the country.
The teamLab: Hidden Traces of Rice Terraces (Yūkoku Onden Ato in Japanese) project emphasizes “Digitized Nature,” where art becomes an extension of the natural environment. Visitors can interact with installations that react to their presence, resulting in dynamic sights that change with each step forward. Uniquely, this art installation opens in the evening as the sun is setting, inviting visitors to experience the lit-up area under the dark night sky.
Getting There
Although the exhibition is located about two and a half hours from Tokyo, the journey is well worth it. Travelers can start off by taking the Joban Line from Tokyo Station to Isohara Station. From there, a short taxi ride will take you directly to the exhibition. For those driving, ample parking is available, and the scenic countryside offers a picturesque backdrop along the way.

This is not just an art exhibition; it’s an opportunity to connect with the essence of nature in an innovative way.
