Description
Women were strictly prohibited from entering Mt. Koya until the Meiji Period. In the past, Nyonindo were located at all the seven entrances of Mt. Koya (known as Koya Nana-kuchi). The Nyonindo at the Fudozakaguchi entrance is the only one that remains.
