Description
Opened in 2014, Abeno Harukas is a skyscraper towering 300 meters above the streets of Osaka. The 60-story building's lower floors house a department store and an art museum, while offices occupy the middle floors. Above the offices is a hotel, and capping the skyscraper are observatory decks that are a magnet for tourists and shoppers. The name Harukas derives from an old Japanese word ”harukasu,” meaning ”to brighten, to clear up,” and the building exudes this quality with its bright and spacious design. If you're looking to catch an unforgettable view of not just Osaka but also Kansai International Airport, Universal Studios Japan, Kyoto, Kobe, the Akashi Kaikyo Ohashi Bridge and Mt. Ikoma, head to ”Harukasu 300” on the 58th to 60th floors on a clear day. Located in the southern part of Osaka city, Harukas is easy to find: if you’re using the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line, get off at Osaka Abenobashi Station, which connects directly to Harukas, or get off the JR train at JR Tennoji Station, which is very close to Harukas.
Enjoy a sweeping view of Kansai from an all-glass corridor filled with a sense of spaciousness
The 58th, 59th, and 60th floors are observatory decks together called ”HARUKAS 300.” After buying a ticket at the counter on the 16th floor, ascend directly to the 60th floor in a high-speed elevator and arrive at an all-glass floor called ”Sky Corridor.” The 58th floor called “Sky Garden” is an open-air outdoor plaza offering a sense of spaciousness.
Dine at Sky GARDEN 300 with a superb view from 300 meters above the ground
Enjoy a meal with family or friends while taking the superb view 300 meters above the ground. Open between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily, Sky GARDEN 300 on the 58th floor is a combination of café, restaurant and bar serving items that range from hotdogs to one-plate meals to desserts to alcoholic drinks. You can also book a popular dinner plan that includes a special window table for a wonderful night view.
Enjoy a variety of art at an urban art museum
The Abeno Harukas Art Museum on the 16th floor is an urban art museum based on the concept of ”art everyone can enjoy.” The museum regularly presents exhibitions covering all sorts of genres including contemporary and Buddhist art. Next to the museum's entrance on the 16th floor is an atrium garden soaring 80 meters above ground level that you can enter free of charge. Since there are benches where you can sit and relax, it's an ideal place to take a break or meet up with friends.
Dare to walk along the edge, 300 m up!
If heights are your thing, give ”EDGE THE HARUKAS” a try. Feel the thrill of walking right out on the edge on a 20-m long deck just 60 cm wide…with just a safety rope connecting you to the top of this 300-m skyscraper. As you stand in the fresh breeze, fear and excitement compete with the unparalleled 360-degree view of the land far below.
