Isshinji Temple was founded by Honen and was the headquarters of Ieyasu Tokugawa during the Winter campaign of the siege of Osaka in 1614. The temple is also famous for its Bone Buddhas (known as okotsu-botoke) which sit inside the temple and are made once every ten years from the ashes of its believers.
