Description
Kashihara Jingu Shrine was built at the site of Kashihara-gu. According to an entry in the ancient text Nihongi, this is where Emperor Jimmu ascended to the throne. Designated as important cultural properties, the main hall and the Bunka-den hall were relocated from the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Oda Goten Palace. The enormous shrine grounds have a solemn atmosphere, and the path leading to the shrine harmonizes splendidly with the greenery of the forest.
