Description
Kokichi Mikimoto, known as the pearl king, launched the Japanese pearl industry when he successfully created the world’s first pearl culturing island. On the island, you can learn about how pearls are processed and see art works on display at the Pearl Museum. Enjoy watching demonstrations from female divers who used to support the pearl culture. Clad in their traditional white diving wear, these divers dive down once an hour.
