Description

A part of a Shingon sect temple, the Shinsen-en Garden is a designated historic site. It was constructed during the Heian capital period and was a private garden belonging to the emperor. It’s also famous for the rain rituals conducted by Kukai (Kobo-Daishi) and as the meeting place for Yoshitsune Minamoto and Shizukagozen. Even now, you can feel the elegance of the Heian period here.
