Description

Shokoku-ji Temple was built by Yoshimitsu Ashikaga, and it serves as the head temple of the Shokoku-ji branch of Rinzai Zen. Its oldest building is Hatto Hall, an important cultural property, and was funded by Hideyori Toyotomi. Some of the treasures shared between this temple and its branch temples can be seen at the Jotenkaku Art Museum.
