Description

Enjoy a 2km long path of 450 blooming Yoshino cherry trees along a canal that stretches from Nyakuoji-jinja Shrine to Ginkakuji Temple. Yone Hashimoto, the wife of famous Japanese painter Kansetsu Hashimoto who was actively producing art during the Taisho period (1912-1926), was well-known for planting cherry blossom trees.

Best time of year to see: Early April
40 minutes from JR Kyoto Station on the city bus line 5 bound for Iwakura Soshajo-mae, just off the Ginkakuji-mae bus stop
