Description

Kyoto Station Building, which is directly connected to Kyoto Station, is the gateway of the international tourism city of ”Kyoto” and includes a variety of facilities such as Hotel Granvia Kyoto,,Kyoto Porta, Kyoto-Gekijo Theater, Museum ”EKi” KYOTO, Washoku Koji, and Kyoto Ramen Koji. This huge complex facility is widely enjoyed by many customers, including local residents and tourists from inside and outside Japan.

Designed by Hiroshi Hara who won an international design competition, the building, towering about 60 meters high and stretching about 470 meters long, incorporates the Jobo system (grid-like arrangement of streets and avenues) of the Heian Palace, having a gateway to the city on Karasuma and Muromachi Street. The terraces stretch to the east and west with the central concourse part as a valley in between. In the central part, the atrium space covered by glasses and metals and the magnificent interior space reflecting the sky together create the exterior of the building that blends in with the sky.

Within the building full of attractions, you can enjoy shopping, dining at restaurants, seeing a panoramic view and buildings, experiencing culture, appreciating art, viewing the illumination, participating in events, and so on.
