Description

Matsunoo Taisha Shrine was built in 701 during the Taiho period by the Hata clan and is Kyoto’s oldest temple. Deep within the grounds is “Kamei no Mizu”, a famous spring known for its longevity benefits. Legend says that if one adds said this spring water when brewing sake, it will never go bad, thus, many brew masters are deeply faithful to this shrine.
