Description
The Takeda Castle ruins stretch for 100 meters east to west and 400 meters north to south. Also known by their alternate name, “Torafusu Castle,” the ruins are 353.7 meters above sea level and sit at the summit of Mt. Kojo. The ruins are included as one of the 100 Great Castles of Japan for its well-preserved stone walls that are considered to be some of the best in the country. It is also referred to as a “castle in the sky” for its floating appearance amongst morning fog that rolls in during fall and winter.
