A Unique Take on a Beloved Classic
Kumakawa's version, with commentary in Japanese, brings audiences into a world filled with wonder, magic, and vibrant storytelling, all performed by the Theater Orchestra Tokyo. The timeless story makes it easy for international visitors to follow along and enjoy this holiday tradition while in Japan.
Kumakawa's Nutcracker begins with the dazzling sight of an enormous Christmas tree magically growing before the audience's eyes. The visual story progresses, taking the audience on a journey through an enchanting snow-filled land, complete with an epic battle between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and a captivating visit to the Kingdom of Dolls.
The production is filled with vivid colors, dynamic choreography, and carefully crafted scenes that together feel nothing short of magical.

Held at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, the production offers numerous showtimes to accommodate the holiday rush. Each performance runs approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, including an intermission. The schedule is below.
