With around 400 locations across Japan, you are sure to encounter a MUJI wherever you are. Head to your nearest MUJI to check out these 10 winter essentials!
- Table of Contents
1. Organic Apple and Ginger Tea
There’s something about winter that makes it the perfect season for relaxing on a sofa, curling up with a good book and enjoying a delicious hot beverage. Tea lovers will enjoy MUJI’s line-up of non-caffeinated organic tea, and MUJI Apple and Ginger Tea is an aromatic choice perfect for cold nights. The faint sweetness of apple compliments the fragrance and taste of ginger.
2. Extra Moisturising Lip Gloss
Keep dry, chapped, and cracked lips at bay with this tube of Moisturizing Lip Gloss. The honey tinged gloss appears clear on your lips and glides on effortlessly. You can also pair with a berry colored lip stain for a festive holiday look. When using this product, keep in mind that a little goes a long way in keeping your lips moisturized morning or night.
3. Neroli Scented Hand Cream
The citrus scent of this hand cream will invigorate your senses—and keep your hands and fingers silky smooth at the same time! The secret of this hand cream lies with the natural neroli extract obtained from the blossom of the bitter orange tree. It contains neroli essential oil as well, giving it a natural fragrance. Rub the lotion-like cream into your hands thoroughly after applying to keep your skin moisturized on even the driest winter days.
4. Portable Aroma Diffuser
“Kawaii” may not be the first word to describe MUJI’s products, which heavily use natural colors, but this Portable Aroma Diffuser certainly breaks the mold! Recently added to MUJI’s lineup of products in September 2017, this sleek and discreet diffuser fits perfectly into your pocket or handbag and comes with a handy pouch and USB cable. Pair with seasonal mood-elevating scents like orange, juniper berry, and peppermint.
5.Snowflake Touchscreen Gloves
Touchscreen gloves are not new, but MUJI has combined style with functionality in this line-up of gloves made in Japan. By using a wool blend, these gloves keep your hands warm without being thick or bulky. The thumb, index and middle fingers have touchscreen-compatible tips while the subdued snowflake design is a playful but tasteful pattern appropriate for all ages. Available in Oatmeal, Gray, and Navy.
6. Multi-Functional Plaid Cape
Trends change every years, but a plaid cape will never go out of style. What makes MUJI’s cape stand out from others is that it is specially designed to fit on your shoulders—no more worrying about it slipping off your body! As a bonus, this lightweight cape made from yak and sheep wool also functions as a large scarf and can be worn in a variety of ways. Available in Dark Green, Burgundy, Blue, and Light Gray.
7. Adjustable Earmuffs
If you’re in Japan this winter, you’re likely contemplating a visit to one of the many night illumination events across the country. Before you brave the cold, pick up a pair of these velvety-lined earmuffs. They come in both plaid and solid colors, making it easy to find a pair that will fit in nicely with your existing wardrobe Available in Dark Green, Burgundy, Navy, Dark Red, and Charcoal Gray.
8. Soft Fleece Slippers
Once you try these fleece slippers, you’ll fall in love with the cozy feeling they’ll give you. Flexible yet durable, the fleece is actually made from recycled polyester, and the elastic ensures that they won’t slip off your feet. Not only are the insoles lined in a fluffy material, the material also tends to the instep, encasing your feet in warmth. Available in Navy and Beige.
9. Grapefruit Scented Bath Salts
Take a rejuvenating soak in a bath made from sea salt obtained from Japan’s famed Seto Inland Sea, the body of water between the islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Grapefruit is one of the most popular scent and yellowish-orange of these Japanese bath salts is a naturally-derived color. Also available in 380g and 40g packages.
10. No Itch Hat Series
These knit hats look like your standard knit hat, but it’s only after you wear it that you'll feel the difference. Literally. Unlike other knit hats which can be downright uncomfortable and cause itchiness, MUJI’s hats are the answer to your winter woes. MUJI has been able to create a hat that will not irritate you (or your forehead). Available in Ivory, Gray, Dark Green, Navy, Dark Red, and Black.
