For the first time in forever...
Both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea have been closed since February 29, meaning a closure of around four months in total. But for the first time in what seems like forever, the park will be reopening on July 1!
OLC Group is taking the health and safety of visitors very seriously, and will be implementing a number of limitations to avoid further spread of the virus. These countermeasures will include things such as limiting the number of people who enter the park, limiting the number of people at each facility and attraction within the park, regular cleaning, and reminder announcements to adhere to social distancing practices.
The following is a translation of an excerpt from OLC Group’s official announcement.
Official statement on Covid-19 countermeasures
As we reopen both parks, we will implement measures in accordance with the "Guidelines for preventing the spread of coronavirus infections at amusement parks and theme parks" which was created based on the government's "Basic countermeasures against novel coronavirus infections". As such, we will implement the following three measures in the interest of basic health and safety:
・Remain mindful of the health management of everyone who has involvement with the park, including guests and cast/staff members
・Strengthen cleaning and disinfection measures to provide hygienic facilities and equipment
・Maintain social distancing and a well-ventilated environment
Requests and guidelines for visitors
Visitors (guests) are requested to kindly have their temperature taken upon entering the park, as well as wearing a mask, adhering to social distancing, washing hands regularly, and using hand sanitizer and disinfectant. In addition, cashless payment such as credit card or electronic payment is recommended. If you feel unwell after entering the park, depending on your symptoms, please understand that you may be asked to leave.
Furthermore, people who meet the following criteria are asked to refrain from visiting the park:
・Those who have had recent or ongoing close contact with some who has tested positive for Covid-19
・Those who live with or have had close contact with someone who is suspected to have contracted Covid-19
・Those who have been to, lived in, or have had close contact with someone who has been to another country or region within the past 14 days that is restricted by the government or requires a period of isolation.
*The elderly or those at high risk of contracting Covid-19 are strongly advised to carefully consider not visiting the park
General park management
From July 1 when the park resumes, operating hours for the time being will be from 8:00 to 20:00. The attractions, entertainment, shops and restaurants of both parks will be operated with limitations, or will not be open.
*Please see the official website of Tokyo Disney Resort® for restrictions, closures and changes to operation hours of individual park facilities.

For those who own an annual passport with an expiration date after Saturday, February 29, 2020, the following measures are to be put in place:
・Refund or extension of expiration date
・Online shop access and ticket lottery
Even if you are unable to visit the park in person, the parks are preparing online sales of park goods via the Tokyo Disney Resort app. If you were unable to visit the park during the original designated ticket period, and apply for an extension, you can be entered into a lottery to win a day pass ticket (lottery unavailable for those who apply for a refund).
