- Written by: Krys Suzuki
Valentine's Day is just around the corner! And in Osaka and Kyoto, it's the perfect opportunity to spend some time with your special someone or friends.
This year, have a fabulous afternoon tea, a romantic getaway, or just indulge in some decadent chocolate!
In Kyoto and Osaka, you can experience an abundance of Valentine-themed dining, hotel, and shopping options to bring a touch of romance into your life.
Fauchon Hotel Kyoto: Paris Meets Kyoto in this Elegant Gourmet Hotel
Nothing says romantic like Valentine's Day in Paris. But if you happen to find yourself closer to Kyoto this year, don't worry. Between February 1-14, you'll be able to celebrate in sophistication at Fauchon Hotel Kyoto.
Start your Valentine's Day with a heart-warming Valentine's Afternoon Tea at Salon de Thé Fauchon (2F). This elegant fusion of Paris and Kyoto is a cozy space that offers not only afternoon tea, but popular Paris sweets and limited-edition Kyoto-inspired teas. It's the perfect spot for a romantic date with your special someone, or tea time with your bestie.

Next, stop by 'Pastry & Boutique Fauchon', a pleasantly pink-themed pastry boutique open to hotel guests and regular customers alike. Specializing in imported Fauchon goods directly from Paris, such as macarons and teas, for Valentine's Day, Fauchon Hotel Kyoto is releasing their own limited-run Original Valentine's Day Chocolates.
This year's Fauchon Hotel Kyoto original chocolates include 'Bonbon Chocolates,' available in flavors such as the rich and fruity Caramel Pear, and the fragrant and crunchy Almond Praline, and 'Tablet Chocolates,' characterized by a rich cacao flavor made with premium Valrhona chocolate from France. Each selection makes a perfect gift, whether for your special someone, your friends, or yourself. (*Limited quantities available.)
End the evening with a romantic dinner and chocolate with Grand Cafe Fauchon's Valentine's Day Dinner Course. Located on the very top floor of the hotel, Grand Cafe Fauchon is a cozy, elegant space offering special Valentine's Day Courses from February 1 to 14 (available for lunch and dinner). Overlooking the famous World Heritage Site, Kiyomizu Temple, you'll enjoy dining in style with a magnificent, panoramic view of Higashiyama on display right before your eyes.
Each course includes a wonderful array of delectable cuisine from Kyoto and France, prepared with seasonal ingredients to signal the arrival of spring, including fresh vegetables and venison from Kyotamba.
