Chiikawa Takes Over Tokyo Skytree Again This Summer
- Written by: LIVE JAPAN Editor
Fans of Chiikawa have another reason to visit Tokyo this summer. Tokyo Skytree® will host a brand-new collab event, Chiikawa ☆ Starry Skytree and the Secret Island, from July 10 to October 31, 2026, marking the beloved characters’ first return to the tower in three years.

Timed to celebrate the release of the new film Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island, opening nationwide on July 24, the event transforms Tokyo Skytree’s observation areas into a colorful world inspired by Chiikawa and friends, complete with exclusive visuals, themed food, photo spots, and special nighttime illuminations.
Tokyo Skytree’s 450-meter Tembo Galleria will become the heart of the event, featuring decorative displays and immersive installations using newly created event artwork. Visitors will also find themed photo spots where they can snap pictures alongside Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi, and other popular characters.
Meanwhile, the 350-meter Tembo Deck will host even more attractions, including a special screening at the massive SKYTREE® ROUND THEATER, where the tower’s windows transform into a giant panoramic screen. Guests can also purchase commemorative photo services and enjoy character-inspired lighting displays illuminating the tower itself.
Exclusive merchandise and limited-time café items will also be available during the event. The themed menu at SKYTREE® CAFE on Floor 340 is expected to feature plenty of adorable, photo-worthy treats inspired by the Chiikawa universe.
One important detail for café visitors: entry to the collaboration café will require a special observation ticket package that includes a meal voucher. Additional ticketing details and merchandise information will be announced in a later update.
