Anime and gaming culture from Japan has become popular all over the world, with "Pokemon" being one of the animated shows that has captured the hearts of people of all ages and genders, including this writer's childhood.
The immense popularity has also turned Japan's "official Pokémon Cafe" into a highly exclusive and hard-to-book establishment even for those with money!
However, The Strings, known for frequently hosting limited-time events, will collaborate with "Pokemon" to launch a super cute "Pikachu Afternoon Tea (ピカチュウ アフタヌーンティー)" temporary cafe at their own 1st floor Cafe & Dining ZelkovA, starting from April 24th.
Not only can you enjoy it inside the cafe, but it can also be taken away, so where exactly is this adorable Pikachu-themed afternoon tea served?
Take a look together with LIVE JAPAN!
Introducing the Collaborative Cafe & Dining ZelkovA
Cafe & Dining ZelkovA is an elegant cafe where you can usually enjoy New York-style international cuisine.
However, this time, with the launch of "Pikachu Afternoon Tea", it has become a cute cafe full of Pikachu everywhere.
Whether it's the tables with original Pikachu designs or the sofa seats with Pikachu running around behind them, it makes people want to take a lot of pictures!
For those who want to have Pikachu all to themselves, they can also reserve a special seat for two and have a date with Pikachu!
Here are the menu items for the super cute Pikachu-themed afternoon tea!
The cute three-tiered afternoon tea stand is designed mainly in Pikachu's vibrant yellow color.
On top, there are adorable mini burgers, muffins that resemble Pikachu, macarons with Pikachu stripes, and other sweet and savory treats that are all too cute to eat!
So let's take a look at some of these super cute menu items right away. (Note that only some of the menu items will be introduced.)
☆ Pikachu Muffin (ピカチュウマフィン)
The Pikachu Muffin is a citrus-flavored muffin topped with fresh whipped cream and finished off with Pikachu's signature ears, making it an adorable muffin that looks just like Pikachu!
☆ Pikachu Hide-and-Seek Rich Mango Pudding (ピカチュウのかくれんぼ 濃厚マンゴープリン)
The Pikachu Hide-and-Seek Rich Mango Pudding is a rich mango pudding with a refreshing yellow color that evokes a summertime feeling.
Pikachu peeking out from behind the cherry is so cute, as if it's playing hide-and-seek!
☆ Forest Pistachio Mousse Tart (森のピスタチオムースタルト)
The Forest Pistachio Mousse Tart is a dessert tower that represents Pikachu's forest, with pistachio-flavored mousse in the middle.
The perfect amount of dried fruit adds a mature flavor to the dessert tower.
☆ Pikachu Drinks (3 types)
The Pikachu Afternoon Tea (ピカチュウ アフタヌーンティー) originally offers unlimited coffee, TWG tea, herbal tea, spiced tea, and 16 other drinks, but if you want something more special, you can also order one of these three Pikachu drinks.
This way, your afternoon tea and drinks will all be Pikachu-themed, and it even comes with a complimentary Poke Ball coaster!
・(Left) Pikachu Fruit Mocktail (ピカチュウ フルーツモクテル) 1,012 yen (incl. tax)
This is a non-alcoholic cocktail with a mature adult feel that features Pikachu in its design, with a taste that is full of fresh mixed fruit juice.
・(Middle) Pika★Pachi Passion Fruitade (ピカ★パチ パッションフルーツエード) 1,012 yen (incl. tax)
This passion fruit soda, perfect for early summer, has a cute Pikachu-shaped mango sherbet on top. The design of the fruit soda with Pikachu's signature move, "Thunderbolt," flashing around is surprising!
・(Right) Pikachu Art Cafe Latte (ピカチュウ アート・カフェ・ラテ) 1,265 yen (incl. tax)
This latte with Pikachu latte art has a rich aroma of espresso, and the gentle milk adds a touch of elegance.
☆ Pikachu Special Dessert (ピカチュウ スペシャルデザート) 2,300 yen (incl. tax)
If you still feel like you haven't had enough after the afternoon tea, you can also order the Pikachu Special Dessert to make your tea time even more rich and special!
The Pikachu Special Dessert is a surprise dessert that involves melting chocolate and is presented in an artistic way to showcase Pikachu's electric shock and striped design, while being creative and elegant at the same time.
The dessert itself includes popping candy chocolate, crunchy peanuts, fruity sourness, and ice cream cake, like a spectacular ensemble performance in your mouth.
Experience an exciting performance by pouring fruit sauce over the chocolate egg!
☆ Takeout Afternoon Tea 10,000 yen (incl. tax)
If you don't have time to dine in the cafe, you can also take it out and bring it home with a beautiful three-tiered takeout stand.
You can enjoy it alone or have a Pikachu-themed party with your friends at home!
