Yumeji Takehisa Museum

This museum showcases the works of a leading Japanese painter in the Taisho period, Yumeji Takehisa. It was founded in November 1990 by a lawyer Takumi Kano and houses approximately 3,300 items including Nihonga (Japanese style painting), oil paintings, original drawings, print works, books written by Takehisa, his belongings and the related documents. About 200 to 250 works selected from the collection are regularly displayed. The museum shop selling postcards and posters and Yumeji Café Minatoya are also available in the premises. Along with the Yayoi Museum in the premises, you can spend a day to appreciate art works. A seven-minute walk from Exit 1 of Nezu Station on the Chiyoda Subway Line or Exit 1 of Todaimae Station on the Namboku Subway Line. A secluded museum located in verdant Hongo.
