Tokyo Station is a large hub connecting the Japanese capital to all corners of Japan’s main island – and beyond. While a lot of people mainly visit the area for the massive station, it has a lot of shops, restaurants, and sightseeing spots to offer that are sure to enrich your trip! Whether you’re waiting for a bullet train or feel like exploring beyond the premises of Tokyo Station, we’ve selected three diverse must-visit spots when you’re in the area!
What is COCOSHIGA, where you can experience the charms of Shiga in Tokyo?

If you're planning a trip to Tokyo, be sure to visit COCOSHIGA! Located in the Nihombashi area, this information hub for Shiga Prefecture features a market and bar on the first floor, where you can buy local specialties and traditional crafts, and a restaurant on the second floor where you can try dishes made with Shiga ingredients.

On the second floor of COCOSHIGA, the Omi Beef Morishima Kankankan restaurant offers a range of dishes featuring Omi beef. They use only carefully selected cuts from a shop in Omihachiman City in Shiga that handles only wagyu brands like Omi.
ROJI Nihonbashi: Take Home the Local Tastes of Japan

Roji is a cozy little shop run by the Kokubu Group, a famous Japanese wholesaler. Here, you’ll find local tastes from all over Japan, ready to be taken home as a souvenir. A famous and intriguing example is canned snacks called “kanstuma,” featuring classic snacks such as smoked herring or oysters. A series of soups called Yukarino specializes in regional tastes, making for a wonderful souvenir for every gourmet.

The shop itself stays true to the charm of Old Edo, fusing modern design with traditional aesthetics, much like the food that is on sale. Roji is definitely worth a visit!
