What’s the best way to get to Shinjuku Mylord Loft?
Shinjuku Mylord Loft is located on the 6th floor of Shinjuku Mylord, which is directly connected to JR Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line. It is also connected to the adjacent Busta Shinjuku (Shinjuku Bus Terminal) by the Shinjuku Southern Terrace promenade.
10 stationery items recommended by the store manager!
Mr. Akito Goto, manager of the Shinjuku Mylord Loft, selected the stationery items to be introduced in this article. From his being able to observe foreign visitors shopping in the store every day, he selected ten products that were popular with them because of the products' unique design or functionality.
1. Double Ring Green Note (B5 430 yen / A5 390 yen / others; tax not included)
As its name suggests the Double Ring Green Note is a notebook that has green paper. In response to the postings on SNS saying, "I am hypersensitive so I don't want to use white notebooks because the light reflection hurts my eyes," the decision was made to offer these in Lofts throughout the country.
There are four sizes: B5 (430 yen), A5 (390 yen), B7 (260 yen), and A7 (200 yen) (excluding tax). They have a wide range of uses from jotting down memos to use in businesses. Green Note, which reduces light reflection, is easy on the eyes and is popular among both men and women, and young and old alike.
2. King Jim Pi Note (A5 380 yen, excluding tax)
The King Jim Pi Note looks like a normal notebook at first glance, but if you look closely, the ruled lines are the numerical representation of Pi (3.141592 ...), making this quite a unique notebook. Originally it was a King Jim project inspired by Pi Day (March 14) that was scrubbed, but when Loft learned about it on SNS it proposed commercializing it, and now it is a popular product available only at Loft.
In addition, series with ruled lines using the characters of names of municipalities, a poem card game, countries, and the like have been created and are on sale throughout Japan. Using one of these notebooks every day would probably help you to remember the number Pi as well as the name of various municipalities!
3. Soft Ring Note (A5 310 yen / B ruled 80 sheets A6 380 yen / others; tax not included)
Soft Ring Note is a notebook that seeks to make writing comfortable. Because the pages are bound with a new type of "soft ring", you can continue writing without stress even if your hand touches a ring.
The store manager Mr. Goto said, "Once you use this notebook, it's unlikely you'll go back to using other types of ring notebooks." It is one of the Loft's perennial favorites and comes in various sizes and colors.
4. Frixion Point Knock 04 (250 yen, tax not included)
In the Frixion Series that is known for its erasable ballpoint pens, the Frition Point Knock 04 released in September 2019 is particularly recommended. The 0.4 mm pen tip with its Synergy Tip makes for smooth and effortless writing. In addition, the center of gravity is slightly closer to the pen tip than the center, making it a very easy to use ballpoint pen.
The pens and their ink come in 8 colors: black, red, blue, green, blue black, orange, pink, and light blue. Store manager Goto especially likes this product because of its versatility and metallic finish that gives it a rich look.
5. Buta Sharp (300 yen, tax not included)
This is a palm-sized mechanical pencil in the shape of a pig. Insert the half of a pencil lead through the nose and the pencil tip is at the rear end.
It comes in three colors: blue, yellow, and pink. This product is only available in Loft stores.
6. Clickart (12-color set 1,200 yen / 36-color set 3,600 yen, tax not included)
Launched in March 2019, Clickart is a water-based color knock pen that uses "Moist Keep Ink" that does not dry out even without a cap. It comes in 36 color variations, and you can purchase them as a set.
The colors in Clickart, which is suitable for drawing illustrations, do not bleed even when written over one another, so beautiful and delicate coloring is possible. This is one of the products that made color pens popular in 2019.
7. Pen Case Octotatsu M (1,200 yen, excluding tax)
The Pen Case Octotatsu M is a pen case with a suction pad on the bottom that prevents it from falling over when placed on a desk. The top section is removable enabling it to be used for storing small items while the lower section serves as a pen holder.
It comes in six colors. Since it is a space-saving and functional product, it is suitable for use in conference rooms and cafes.
8. SMA / STA Pen Case (black 1,300 yen / floral pattern green 1,600 yen / other, tax not included)
The SMA / STA Pen Case is a pen stand designed for use in small spaces. There is a magnet inside, so by unzipping and opening it, it transforms into a stand.
Its large capacity and separate pockets means it will hold many other small items in addition to pens. Its wide selection of colors and design functionality make this a popular product with foreign visitors.
9. 4 Size Sticker Doraemon Friends / Pikachu (200 yen, tax not included)
Of the roughly 200 types of stickers available at Shinjuku Mylord Loft, the ones with Japanese characters are very popular. The most popular is the 4 Size Sicker Doraemon Friends followed by the popular 4 Size Sticker Pikachu which are both also highly versatile and recommended as Japanese souvenirs.
10. Stand Stick Marker (300 yen, tax not included)
The “Stand Stick Marker”, a sticky note that can be used upright, is a product that is recommended for use in schools and workplaces. It is so cute and unique that it makes a good decoration in itself.
The animal buttocks series is very popular, with Corgi's Buttocks 2 being especially popular. There are several other popular types, such as those of Akita dogs and rabbits, and they are also very popular with foreign visitors.
