What sort of place is Odaiba?

Odaiba sits astride Minato, Shinagawa and Koto cities. It actually has a very old history reportedly getting its start during the Edo Period at the time of Perry’s visit to Japan.

Two attractions you should see when visiting are the Rainbow Bridge, a symbol of Tokyo, and the Statue of Liberty. There are also shopping malls and recreational facilities such as DECKS Tokyo Beach, Palette Town and Tokyo Odaiba Oedo Onsen Monogatari.

While Odaiba has a strong urban image, being situated on the coast it has another natural side where it coexists with sea life and seabirds. Parks such as Aomi Minami Terminal Park, Odaiba Marine Park, and Daiba Park regularly hold events, so we suggest you time your visit to coincide with one of these events.

The nearest station to Odaiba is Daiba Station on the New Transit Yurikamome. A convenient way to get to the various places in Odaiba is to take a JR train, Tokyo Metro, or Yurikamome, to Daiba Station.
